It’s because he teamed up with a company from New Zealand to launch a real life gnome Chompski into space so now if you buy or play LFD 2, Half Life Alyx, or Half Life Episode 2 you now get the achievement

He's been stuck in New Zealand for long enough that he's now considered a citizen for taxation purposes, and it seems like Gabe at the very least gets some sort of tax write-off for doing charitable donations (not familiar with NZ tax law so I could be wrong), not that the whole thing wasn't a nice gesture.

It is because you partner with a New Zealand company to launch a real gnome, Chompski, into space, if you buy or play LFD 2, Half Life Alyx or Half Life Episode 2, you will have the achievement.

the achievement was added a few days before it was launched, so it would confused many ppl why its here we got more information about it
