EDIT: A friend was kind enough to point out that you haven’t been playing for 6 years straight. You’ve probably only had it for that long but just hop in once in a while. Let me tell you upfront that if immersion is really what you’re looking for, Versus mode is not the place for that. You’ll have better luck in Campaign mode if you want to simply wander around.
I mean, are people upset about you not being able to skeet hunters or not knowing every single death charge spot? Sure, they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
But if you're wandering around the map wasting time getting "immersed" by every corner right after your team cleared an attack and you're supposed to rush and cover as much distance as possible before SI get their next spawn - you're the problem here.
+1
Some people wander around like this is Minecraft or something.
If you vote-kick them, they may freak out even more, or start holding grudges.
Leaving is a good solution, I think, because then they can just put it behind them, and they can't blame you for it either. At worst, they start accusing you of rage quitting, but we know better.
What they think is not important. The only thing that matters is what I think.
Some vets are very forceful and get very angry at new players. However i think if you are nice about it then trying to teach instead of kick isa good thing. Iv always thought that one round with vets and a new player will learn 10x more than 10 rounds with other new players.
Iv given up trying to teach people more complicated stuff on the fly in pub games. I do still throw out little hints though like "Hey guys try not to spawn so early, so they dont know what we have, try spawn just before you attack" Just simple stuff like that. Not seen anyone get mad at it yet, id say all vets should just try to be respectful, and not treat other players like personal minions lol
Sometimes its us vets that should adapt our play to cater to the rest of the team, not expect the rest of the team to learn everything that took us hundreds of hours in a level or two :)
Reminds me of this scene in a war movie where a recruit went to tell the vets in his squad his name, and one said: "Don't tell me your name, you're green, survive two weeks and then you can tell me your name"
Stop sucking at versus or play with friends
It’s like bolstering their strengths and filling in their weaknesses.
Either play with a friend or bring a friend along to a Public match for votekick power.
Is these 6 years spent on Xbox 360? If it was then welcome to pc gaming. Don’t be a baby and they won’t be toxic back to you. If they’re toxic to you, just ignore
1. If the Infected team attacks the newbies, I’ll instakill them.
2. If the Infected team attacks me, I’ll still instakill them and if by any chance there’s a lapse in my defense for a particular ambush e.g. skeeted a Hunter and cut a Smoker tongue but failed to kill a Jockey behind me, at least one of the newbie teammates is there to shoot/shove to save me.
Like what you mentioned though, not every vet enjoys babysitting but it’s a better challenge for me compared to the usual rush through Versus.
