No Mercy sewer tank?
This is probably a dumb question, but is there anything you can do when you spawn as the tank in the sewer, and the survivors don't drop down? There's no way to climb up to them as far as I can tell, and I don't want to waste the tank on Versus... The tank can't go back into spawn mode, as far as I'm aware, but maybe there's a way to make it spawn in another location?

Might be a noob question, but I didn't find anything on Google or the Steam forums about it...

Don't the survivors need to open that particular manhole, though? Is it open in Versus, or can the tank push through it? I just tried playing through it on a "single player versus" map, and the manhole was sealed until a bot opened it.

The tank can climb trough it, im almost positive. There are spots in the parish that requires a survivor to get in close proxomity for it to blow up for example just before the graveyard in the parish when you are up on the bride where a airplane blows up something so you can jump down.
The tank can climb up and trough it before its destroyed. I would assume the same rule applies to no mercy
Tank has only one opening in the sewer to go up and it's generally on the left hand side of the map. There are two sewer openings for survivors, one as you enter the room with the water tanks in them, and then on the right side of the room with pipes of the side. The right room is the only way a tank can get up from there. (For AI's either case works)

Although in most cases you won't really get a turn playing as the tank in that scenario anyway, since survivors always go back outside and the meter expires before you can get to it.

Or they sit on top of the ladder so you can't climb up since they block your way. Among one of the most horrible spots for a tank in the entirety of Versus.

What're the other ones? This is the only one I've ever had a problem with.

Also, hey, I recognize your name! :D I've seen a few of Khomchik's videos with you in 'em.

The other problematic spot is another sewer exit, Parish 3rd map

More problematic for the survivors instead of the infected because unlike No Mercy where they have the high ground advantage as well as the speed advantage, The Parish does the reverse to the infected because even if they retreat to the water the infected will have the speed advantage not them.

I thought that only happened in the first game? I hardly ever play versus on here, maybe I just haven't noticed it happen. Anyways, even when they do that, you could just throw a rock up through the opening and climb up right after, or jump up and punch as you climb, they can't block the path if they're recovering from an attack.

I don't think you can block the tank unless its in a very specific spot because I've tried blocking AI tanks with the very well known in L4D1 tank block ladder in Death Toll's chapter two and he would just push you out of the way.

AI tank can do things a player controlled tank cannot do. You can block a player controller tank on ladders.

AI tanks can also climb some areas that a player controller tank can't.

For AI tanks this doesn't work, but I can't believe Valve didn't implement the same thing applying for players. No Mercy is a pretty frequent map for ladder blocking.

That doesn't matter. A competent team will teleport the tank to not waste it.
Is the teleport thing the same as just running the opposite direction and going into respawn mode for normal infected? Or is there something else to it?

No, tanks can never respawn unless you're in one of those modded servers. You teleport a tank by getting into a glitch spot where the tank can no longer move, pretty much applies to all specials and survivors too. The tank teleports to the closest special infected (ghost or not) after about fifteen seconds of being stuck. If all special infected are dead, the tank suicides.

Glitch spots tend to be within the rubble at the end of the train section, on top of stairs where there are stairs on top of it, ect. Not really sure where the teleport spots for the sewer are though, but I'd imagine you could try to teleport under the stairs as you leave the water tank room.

^There is a maintenance room after the first set of sewers. Said room has steam pipes on the left from the door in which you can get stuck. Just make sure you have a ghost next to the Survivors.

Thanks, we'll be using this to make the other team rage!
