AK47 VS. All automatic Shotgun

AK47 is popular for their damage and range, however inaccurate while moving

Auto Shotgun(Tatical or Combat) are well known for their spray and high damage against SI, but it short-mid range, and inaccurate in distance(I don’t factor distance with hitscan such as Shotgun, I only factor by the spray of the shotgun, rather than distance)

I prefer Auto Shottie. Tell me which gun you like and why?

Depends on what the group has really. If no one has a shotgun then I usually pick it up just in case of a witch or something, otherwise I'd use whatever I feel comfortable using at the time as my weapon priority changes day by day (except for sniper rifles, which I can't stand at all). AK-47's are always good to have too.

if theres a shotgun i will always pick it up(i really dont use any other guns unless no shotguns spawn) i prefer combat shotgun cuz it has smaller spread(can take down smokers mid range)

same i cant use snipers at all not my weapon i prefer to get close and personal with a shotgun especially when tank

Depends what am i playing and in wich situation. For campaigns i am using combat shotgun or tactical to crown a ♥♥♥♥♥ and take horde easy. For survival idk Sniper, AK , and autoshotguns...

Yea the shoot load shoot load is still slow as hell. I'll stick to my Chicago typewriter.

AK47 is my favorite. Pretty powerful, usually 1 bullet will take out a common, and for the "endless horde" modes it's fine because the spray (spread?) doesn't matter when moving as body shots, limbs and headshots will all slow/cripple the oncoming horde.

For specials, crouching or using a laser with the AK will usually let me kill them before they grab me. If I see a smoker at the same time it shoots out its tongue, I'll usually kill it. Also pretty decent for picking off smokers and spitters off rooftops, and boomers poking their gut around the corner.

Shotguns are good in lower difficulties, but for me, they're too unwieldly in lower difficulties. Between the spray and commons not going down as easily, shotguns in tougher modes are usually for close combat, and I prefer an "all in one" weapon. Good up close and far away, but not amazing at either.

Combat shotgun, though I might take the AK instead if playing realism, the extra range is good.

Auto-shottie for sentiment, it was the only t2 shotgun in l4d1 and it was super OP.

Smaller spread, better for mid-distance and cr0wning, deagle makes a great support for long distance.

AK for defensive stuff like the holdout finales on more open field (Mercy Rooftop, Dead Air finale and Death Toll's boathouse).

At the end of the day it all depends on the map, the drops and the team.

A good player should be at least proficient with each weapon. Of course one can have favorites, but knowing them all is key. That said it's all about the combo for me.

Imo combining an autoshot with a melee weapon is useless. Using a deagle with an autoshot on the other hand is great. Since you are able to burst in melee with the autoshot and otherwise snipe with the deagle as main weapon. This is especially great in expert, since the deagle is one of the few weapons that can oneshot nornal infected.

Overall the AK is my favorite tho. It has great accuracy with single shots or short bursts and can spray in melee if needed. Combined with a melee weapon it's a very versatile choice.

Sniper Rifle is the best for me. Certain situation like Dark Carnival chapter 4, it's better than any weapons, thanks to its 'one shot two kills' ability.
After realizing how powerful this gun is, I don't see much reasons to use tier 2 automatic rifles. Before I use Sniper Rifle, I used to prefer Combat Rifle that shoots 3 burst, but now this one is my favorite.

AK47 with laser had to be the best assault weapon in T2. M16 with laser is the second. I personally don’t like combat rifle, since mos of time I’m not used to 3 round fire. Although the SCAR is more common on Hard Rain.

I like both, the hunting rifle is also nice to use but I do prefer the MSR.

You might want to try the AK a bit more, it is a fantastic weapon if you can control the recoil.
