Am I the only one who didn't really enjoy Swamp Fever?
Honestly it did get really tedious having to walk around in mud. You walk really slow and it makes you more vulnerable to zombies.

And sometimes it's really confusing. You think it's one path, but then you see a fallen tree which makes you unable to move and you have to walk all the way back, on the mud. Great!

Also, damn it was really annoying to have mud spilled on my face covering half of the screen every single time because of those annoying mud zombies.

The only chapter from Swamp Fever I did enjoy a bit was Plantation. Wow, finally a beautiful view and no mud at all! The rest well, I didn't enjoy that much.

idk how many times its been brought up how/why/when/where both swamp, carnival and colddstream are considered the worst maps in the game and the perfect examples of poor/lazy/boring game design or just shows how the creators just ran out of ideas and did all they could to just rushed it for release.

tl;dr version:
no, youre not the only one

A lot of people hate Swamp Fever because it changes the way to play . Here is why :

1 ) Like you said the mud . It slows movement speed . Hard Rain , Death Toll & Cold Stream have mud parts . But Swamp Fever has more areas that slow movement speed .

2 ) You can't always rely on pills . Adreneline / Epi Pens have more use of strategy in Swamp Fever . You move much faster through mud while under the effects of adreneline .

3 ) Plantation finale 2 Tank fight . Believe it or not , a lot of people hate this as well . It breaks the tradition of 1 Tank fight . & if a Boomer vomits on any survivor , well prepare for some real frustration .

Overall I like Swamp Fever . Players have to adapt to the change . Or risk getting owned . Or the usual , people just become wimps then rage quit .

where to begin, firstly id like to hear whats actually good about it, the lack of creative thinking is extreme because i cant see any reason to like it.

most of the part would probably be how we're in a love tunnel with some real odd ventilation systems or whatever you call this storage area that pops up out of nowhere until you plop out outside of a rollercoaster which in its essence works as a mindless mousewheel of death where the most reliable strategy is to leg it and hope for the best.

then the rollercoaster just magically has an exit right next to a safehouse which just looks awkward and out of place.

i hope the answer was to some kind of satisfaction, maybe you could answer mine ?
"whats good about dark carnival ?"

On the end of the love tunnel, theres a blow on the wall, that gives you access to "carnival staff area" (theres also a door) where you get that storage and so, when you finish the roller coaster its actually the begging of it.
The safe house is always improvised areas, that one specifically is build on the roller coaster line, where people used to buy tickets or whatever..
The same for the next safe room, the entrance of the show area.

I think all the maps are great because you can't rely on the one strategy to get you through them all.

You will have to prioritise different items and movements based on the level.

Naturally people can't handle that and decide to cry and make a post like this

To be honest I agree with you. It is quite annoying have almost most of your movement slowed to a crawl and no amount of adrenaline can really speed up that tedious process. It reminds me of the mud from Origins in COD:BO2 since almost EVERYWHERE is covered with mud and only need one perk to 'fix' the problem.

The mud people are quite annoying since half the time they'll be able to hide under water and attack you once they reach you, but by then you'll already have taken damage by them, and god help you if your stuck in the mud while a tank chases after you.

I think you missed details of the map design/layout, if you pay attention to it, all those areas make sense with each other.

Or you could follow the footpaths?

There are very few areas where you're actively forced to slog through mud.

But even then that just adds to the game

Also fits with the environment, when you think swamp you think of a lot of water as well as a lot of foyage all of which is present in swamp fever.

Dark Carnival worst finale hands down

Just sit around and do nothing until the helicopter arrives. Can shoot the tank across the map. Even worse where you have to sit there 7+++ minutes waiting for the helicopter. So boring.

In terms of slogging through watery ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥:

Swamp Fever > Hard Rain

I barely even touch Hard Rain anymore. The entire second half is a snorefest, and the finale is too. THere are a lot of routes on SF maps where you can stay out of the water while moving for the most part. Hard Rain's second half is like constipation, which is ironic considering all the rain and flooding.
