2. If you host local server others need to have same add ons except maybe console thing.
For anyone still having this problem, I had the EXACT same thing. Apparently, I fixed it by port forwarding the ports their server uses.
TCP: 27014-27050
UDP: 4380,27000-27031,27036

Hi there, can you explain what “port forwarding” is and how to do it? I don’t know squat about computers. I’m currently playing on a brand new gaming laptop (asus TUF laptop) with windows 11 64.
I’m having the same problem with L4D2 always crashing during a game, cash while loading a game and glitching out a lot while playing. I have decent internet speed, about 550 mbps. Looking for any help I can get, thanks.
If I had any other advice, the basic knowledge you would need to be able to do this is know how to log into your router. Here's a source I believe I used in the past dealing with this problem:
