Imma make my second question clear then. "What has the L4D have that the L4D2 doesn't have?"
As to your second question. L4D doesnt really have anything L4D2 doesnt. This is partially the problem. For example L4D doesnt have melee weapons, this means the commons are actually a thing in L4D instead of something you mindlessly spam both of your mouse buttons through.
What makes L4D better is more that it is just better put together, rather than it having things L4D2 doesnt.

Do understand that it will be best to do as the disclaimer says and take what's said with a grain of salt or be salty!
L4D1 is a lot simpler (no defibs, no explosive ammo, no melee weapons, etc) but as a result it almost feels like it's an unfinished game. L4D2 on the otherhand has a ton of crap stuffed into it that almost feels unnecessary (jockey, grenade launcher, bile jar, etc) but these can be worked around with the mods.
Oh, and L4D1 has no workshop.
Just go into mutations, theres "L4D1 Coop" mutation, its not exactly the same atmosphere, but you get the point.
Ignoring that aspect of the game, l4d2 has everything l4d1 has, except a few survival maps, and l4d1 versus, and so..
As a basic primer:
Left 4 Dead 2 has three new Infected and new weapons. In campaign mode, you can shove roughly five times in a row before incurring an increasing cooldown.
The AI Director, which controls hordes, the placement of bosses and items, is different between the two games.
Left 4 Dead has more ambient noise in its levels, things like distant gunfire and background music. Its levels are also on average darker, requiring more frequent use of a flashlight.
Animations and Infected design are different. Shotguns and Auto-Shotguns include an empty reload. Sounds between the two games are different.
Damage and accuracy values are different between the two games. Pistols have a higher fire rate in Left 4 Dead.
The big one though: Left 4 Dead 2 does not use Left 4 Dead's campaign version maps. I've been told the ported maps are from Versus mode. Many areas in the first game that are better protected have been altered or removed in the second. In addition, nearly every ported campaign has an unending crescendo (gauntlet event), where that same place in Left 4 Dead is either a holdout, outliving the horde, or not even a horde event at all.
Left 4 Dead 2 has a modern(ish) VPK addon system. While mods exist for Left 4 Dead, their installation is a bit more difficult than in L4D2.
Edit: however No Mercy remains mostly unchanged in terms of events all of the events are still holdouts while Death Toll and beyond have the crescendo in the place of the holdout that those spots were.
But some like l4d1 for its novelty or classic feel.
i bought the bundle like 4 years ago thinking it would give me the l4d maps in l4d2 like i saw in videos, but i figured out you don't need it
L4D2 = plenty of Guns
