vox localizer not working.
Hey'a, yesterday i installed l4d2 and some of my old addons what i had before and one of them was the vox vocalizer when i installed it the buttons were all set like before but when i got in a singleplayer map it didn't work so i thought oh okay i'll just join a multiplayer server. After joining a server it didn't work so then i went to the workshop page and saw that i need to unsubscribe and delete the files in the addons folder so i did that and then i subscribed to the addon, the buttos were the same and i still couldn't use the vocalizer after trying in a singleplayer match and in a multiplayer one. And another thing is that i changed the buttons, that didn't help either. Could someone help me, please? thanks for reading and have a good day,

Put the VXL mod manually into addons folder (copy it from workshop to addons folder)
add the line : "exec vxl.cfg" to bottom of autoexec.cfg (create one in /cfg/ if it doesn't exist)

Optional : manually add the binds in autoexec.cfg.. example below.

bind "g" "+mouse_menu select" All other binds

If you bind ''Characters'' as ''G'' in Edit Keys/Buttons section , it must work. when you press it , it should show idle in center and survivors around.
i can record a video and show it to you that it aint working and like when i go in console and write "bind g" it says something like voice_menu 0 or something like that
in theory it should work but like it dosent :/

Interesting.. Because simply editing them from Keyboard/Mouse -> Edit Keys/Buttons -> Characters ''G'' must work on everyone.
before it worked without any problems.

"g" = "+mouse_menu select"
so like there's no mouse_select thing enabled somewhere?

I see you tried my vocalizer and it too didn't work for you. In my experience, most of the problems are caused by conflicting addons. So, did you go to Add-ons menu and checked if you have any addon conflicting with the vocalizer? Common cases are third person addons and Improved Bots addon.

Other thing you can do is to disable/uninstall the vocalizer and try if the default vocal radial menus work (by default bound to Z and X).

nothing's conflicting from what i see none of the addons which i have installed are conflicting with the vocalizer.

Are you absolutely sure? Have you double checked it in the game's Add-ons menu? Conflicting addons would be marked in red. Also, there would be an error text in console explaining which files are conflicting and from which addons.

The game can't use 2 or more radialmenu.txt files, which are the core of the vocalizers.

I have the same problem not too long ago, i don't know what fixed it. If i remembered correctly, I unsubscribed the mod and subcribed it back, load the game up and then bind the keys.
