Everything were in Source Engine supported formats. SE1 is a 32bit engine. Meanwhile SE2 is 64bit engine but too bad SE2 doesn't support SE1 formats. If they going to upgrade this game, making a new version is easier like L4D3 or L4D2 Remastered
They could do it out of generosity.... I mean, we all know mega-corporations are known for being generous to it's customers!
Valve fanboys still (unironically) worship Gabe so they must have a recent history of caring!
Uh, just ignore that one game... Artifact... which was an obvious test to see just how far Valve could take their fan-milking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but that's another topic entirely...
Even there's no any update people still play this game include me.
In a way, they're like EA, Steam is their microtransaction department, that's why you'll never see updates or a l4d3. They'll try to do things like Steam sale minigames which are basically microtransaction traps.
1. Update servers quality and make them 60 tick
2. Have option in lobby to enable css guns and balance their stats.
Sg552 is only one that doesnt need balancing though. Scout and awp do need dmg boosts, and i think mp5 could be tier 1.5 gun with slightly upgraded stats, and rarer to spawn than uzi or mac10.
Wut?
Rene legit would know with the mess he stacked onto Valve's backlog <3
I'm optimistic at least a small portion of these:
Dev Thread: Map fixes for Valve
Will also be live in the game by the end of the year, most of them VS fixes that 90% of people will hopefully never even notice.
Meh, if that is all we get i dont really care. They're 10 years too late, and only people who might be happy are the toxic versus diehards. If they want competive game there are far better options than silly versus mode from decade old game, where you dont even gain anything. Its so unsatisfying game mode, rage quitter, trolls, toxic people, and people who just wants to win effortlessly, if their winnings chances gets compromised by balanced teams, they simply leave immediately.
Better servers and css guns unlocking option in the lobby, as i said above would be better for all. Most Valve games like portal 1 and 2, half life 1 and 2, cs series etc. Have been highly rated by all. Even if they lose little bit profits for supporting their older titles, it will be like rich person giving few quarters for homeless person. It would be more about taking pride in your work and respecting your own legacy, but hey ♥♥♥♥ that, right Valve.

It is my opinion that what you've described is true because there is a growing perception of Valve abandoning L4D2, so it has developed into this WestWorld-esque place.. even worse now than what it was originally -- its lack of rage quit penalties being like this constant fail whereas troll prevalence varies over time to an effective peak now in addition to hackers. And I mean "prevalence" in terms of the ratio of trolls amongst total number of active players, because in 2009/2010 L4D2 was a troll haven but legitimate play drowned them out much more significantly.
Players behave a lot differently when they think they're being watched and when it comes to L4D2, the perception is that they're not being watched so anything goes.
This can be progressively fixed by serving L4D2 actual updates that aren't just security vulnerability fixes. Doesn't matter how small they are, Valve just needs to exude some small sense of still watching and loving L4D2. Unfortunately this might only ever be accomplished by throwing the updates the game needs directly into their lap with no real effort required on their part... which is the essence of my map fix goals, but they only can be small updates otherwise purists (myself among them) would complain.
TL;DR: I agree.
Most likely won’t be a Left 4 Dead 3. We are getting Back 4 Blood by original creators though. Some worry that it will be Epic exclusive and I laugh. If it is, I’ll grab it anyway.
I’ve got Steam, GOG, Epic, and Uplay on my PC. Boycotting Epic over exclusive stuff and their battles with Steam is like boycotting Sears in favor of Walmart when both are corporate giants 😂
Turtle Rock Studios had the great opportunity of experiencing failure with Evolve that they are unlikely to make any such mistakes with Back 4 Blood. I've got high confidence in TRS.
If you want a demonstration of how TRS will handle B4B, look at Tripwire and Killing Floor 2 (just subtract the seasonals, the grind, and some of the microtransactions). Though, Tripwire had the luxury of self-publishing, and B4B is being published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment -- if anyone ruins it, it's going to be the fault of WB Games.
