Try to get rid of the ones that involve high quality models

but the model is the only mod that is worth getting in this game ............. Without them , i dont have the motivation to play it. Also i Have used that mod a long time ago, Playing for hundred of hours but never get crash or never see this message. It only appears recently. All i do recently is only add a few other campaign maps and menu changes

Remove more of those addons that you still have, this problem's main cause is usually just high quality models or simply just too many addons installed

Unfortunately you'll just have to make do. L4D2 was not designed to handle mods that have the quality of modern games. You're talking about a game not even from 2010.

You just simply can't have too many mods at the same time, especially those with have an emphasis of quality. (4K textures will destroy your ability to add more mods)

i add tons of HD mods from workshop, i dont know why they release it if the game can not handle it ........... Those mods are really great though. the Graphic sure enhance a lot but the price for its too high. I guess if i want to keep playing this game ijust have to endure with the low quality stuff

This keeps happening because you have high-poly models and HD textures, the source engine cannot handle it.

There's too many indices (materials, sprites) on screen. So many that almost everyone that sees the indices crash with an engine error.

This typically happens with HQ replacements for certain stuff. I recommend avoiding these if you have too many of then.

Bit of a long shot this one but perhaps clear the contents on the %temp% folder and then clear the game cache of l4D2 if you hadn't already, give your pc a reboot after that ?

Why are ppl creating so many HD or even 4K mods then... :/ Too bad there's no way to make the game handle them. Wish they would rework L4D2, Engine update and and and ...
Back 4 Blood is a joke. Won't ever beat L4D2. Since L4D2 is so popular and still has so many players, I wish they would remaster it. I would even pay for that!!! Many ppl would.

Okay incredibly late with this. This happens when a blood decal stretches onto a player model and causes too many vertex indices to occur. One way modders attempt to fix this is by having $nodecal 1 inside of the textures VMT. There is no way to fix it unless you know how to mod and edit VMT's. No it's not due to the amount of mods you have, and this really will only occur when the player is pounced by a hunter.
