How do I play with my friends on LAN on STEAM OFFLINE MODE?

Me and my friend bought the l4d bundle because why not? And we are having trouble because we do not know how to connect with each other on offline LAN.

probably need to host your own server over local ip and have him connect manually to it. bet google would help you.

I tried things that use "sv_lan 1" and sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 1" and it doesn't work
I'm doing this for offline and I'm starting to think that the problems lies with the school's router.

I even tried the one where you look for your ip with "status" or "net_status" and connecting to it leads me to the "--after 10 retries" error.

I also tried "-insecure". both shortcut and launch settings method.

Do you think it might be the school's router?

Pretty sure you have to portforward your router? Don't take my word for that.

I'll wait for more answers. I'll switch to using my mobile hotspot if the school wifi does not work.

hopefully someone knows for sure but i'm fairly positive you could use hamachi or something

Put sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0
The server wont allow anyone to connect except from lobby, you cant have a lobby offline.

put sv_lan 1, thats should do it.
