CLIENT TIMED OUT
Hello!

Can't play multiplayer. While loading I receive "Client timed out" message. Already reinstalled a game, tried to delete ClientRegistry.blob, tried to relog in steam, verfy game cache, restarted my router, tried to change hostport, etc. If something helped - that was just ONE time. Already have freshly installed Windows 10 (about from ~ november). First time all was ok. but for now I can't play at all. Problem is only with L4D2.

WTF and how to solve this problem?

did u try connect to local, dedicated and some public server, and all that happened everywhere?

I think everywhere. Sometimes I get this message even while starting single player. For now it's working again. I changed my local ip in dhcp of my router and my left 4 dead 2 was able to connect to public server 2 times.
Hope that's all, OMG )))
Thank you!

Well, if that happen in single player, you dont use game port, so maybe u didnt solve problem, just lucky-random. Only steam client may use local IP for checking steam login to play l4d2. Internet issues and connection to servers may look like here : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=818399628

It seems to be some problem in the game because it happens when you least expect it - even when things seem to be working as they should. It is especially promenent on local servers, if you get DC'd you'll be stuck with the "Client Timed Out" message no matter what server you connect to.

I get this problem all the time as well. The only thing I've found that helps reduce (but not eleminate) the number of times it happens is this: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6370-QPHJ-3567

Follow the instructions under "Specifying a Clientport as a Launch Option." I then used the following commands:

-dxlevel 95
+clientport 27010

Like I said though, I still get the CTO bug, just not as often as I had been.

I had finally fixed my issue once I found this link: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2117-ILZV-2837

I had Start Menu 8 at the time. Once I removed it the problem went away.
Check your Add ons. I fixed this by turning off all of my skins and downloaded content and was able to finally connect.

Hope this helps you
