Game Audio: My Bluetooth Headset works for everything.....except L4D 2 :(
Hi Guys, I have the Sony MDR-XB950BT bluetooth headset, and it's a phenomenal headset. I use it for almost everything and it sounds amazing.

When I launch L4D 2, something screws up. I want to say it shifts from it's music playing mode to the headset mode for taking calls - like over skype or something. All audio - including any music I'm playing through foobar just stops. I haven't found anything in game's audio section to change that rectifies the situation. I've tried disabling the other sound options in the windows 10 sound manager as well and it hasn't worked. Now, I did download Dolby's plugin for spatial sound to improve the sound quality...and it also works fine with anything except L4D. I've even tried disabling Dolby and Window Sonic and it has no effect. I've tried reinstalling the mobo audio drivers, and still nothing.

Anyone else face similar issues with the audio that could share a solution?

Here's what kinda worked : I set the hands free audio "device" as my default device in my playback devices and then launched the game. The audio quality took a hit but at least I was able to play

Late reply, but I think I have it - or at least it works for me. Be sure to set the BT headphones as your default sound device under windows settings, before you start L4D. Then, verify you can hear through the headphones while within the L4D menus.

If you can, great! If not, exit L4D and verify you hear through the headphones in windows in general.

Assuming you can hear in the L4D menu, when it starts a map, the sound cuts out for me.

How I fix it is to hit escape, go to audio settings, and change the output type from "headphones" to anything else. Say "speakers", "2.1", etc.....

Boom!

Sadly, you'll have to do this each time a new map loads.

Good luck!

Porém a permissão do microfone fica negada. Não sei como deixa ativado ela.

This thread was quite old before the recent posts, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
