What happened to the armored truck from Crash Course?
I myself really like learning about what happens in between campaigns

Some campaigns start with the rescue vehicle of the previous campaign crashed or destroyed, (example: no mercy helicopter in crash course)
When you start Death Toll, it just looks like there was a landslide of trees and bushes and ♥♥♥♥, or maybe that's just Valve being lazy. The custom campaign I Hate Mountains does justice for me as in chapter 1 it starts in the woods where the armored truck has crashed, but in Death Toll, the only vehicle close to the survivors when starting is the poilce car with the trunk open. So has there been any revelation as to where the Crash Course armored truck is? Did they crash it? Did they abandon it after a tank attacked it? I wanna find out, so lemme know, or give me your theories

Yea there is alot of plot holes in l4d2. More so when they added the l4d1 maps to l4d2.

You can still see the crashed helicopter in swamp fever, it's easy to miss, it's beyond the train on the main road

Also in Dead Air, the boat from Death Toll isn't seen anywhere.

And Blood Harvest where is the plane you escaped in?
Did the survivors parachuted out? XD

The Sacrifice comic addresses both.

The couple that owned the Death Toll boat "kicked the survivors off the boat and left them to die"
And the plane from Dead Air crashed.

All this according to the comic

I think I could explain some things about the end of each campaign.

No Mercy - As we all know the survivors begin with the intro of l4d1 and have just been rescued by the helicopter at mercy hospital.

Crash Course - The helicopter crashes due to the pilot getting infected and the survivors will make a trip to riverside, not if before find a good vehicle to make the long trip. And there they find the armored truck.

Death Toll - The route has been blocked by fallen trees and the bridge is destroyed, so they had to get off the truck and continue on foot to riverside. And from there they arrive at the pier station and call a boat.

Dead Air - The man of the boat leaves abandoned the survivors by his wife's subject and they are abandoned in a city bombed by the military (if they look from the beginning in the left side, they will see from a distance a part of the river and docks, there they were expelled). They see a plane fly low to the airport and they get there to escape.

Blood Harvest - The pilot becomes infected again and the survivors throw parachutes into an industrial forest and they must follow the tracks of the train to find the base in the farm and to be able to escape by the military.

The Sacrifice - After reading the comic, tired of already escaping the infected. They went with Bill's plan to find a boat and escape to an island. And well we already know how everything happened in the end.

Dead Center - After they failed to go to the helicopters on the roof of the hotel. The survivors had two options, one going to new orleands, and two going to storage mall and being evacuated. They arrive at the mall and there is nobody, then they escape in the car of the famous runner.

The Passing - After making a long trip, they stop at the raised bridge, and see the previous survivors of the 1. Then they turn around to get to the bridge and see them, and help each other so that the new survivors can escape.

Dark Carnival - To make another trip more, they stop the car because of problems of many cars on the highway. Then they saw lights at the fair and went there to see if anyone was alive. Come to the helicopter to fly and they do their best to get their attention, using the concert.

Swamp Fever - The pilot becomes infected and crashes (you can see the helicopter crashed behind the train wagon). They pass through the swamp until they reach a plantation and call a guy named Virgil to escape.

Hard Rain - Virgil can take them to new orleans, not if before going to look for more gasoline for his long journey. They go to the gas station near the ducatel factory and call virgil again, with heavy rain.

The Parish - At last they came to new orleans, unfortunately it was overwhelmed by the infection and the military have orders to open fire. Then they must go to the bridge as fast as possible so they can be evacuated by the last remaining helicopter.

That is all. And Cold Stream is not included because it is a community and would be something similar to the parish, as an alternative end.

Why did you take the time to type all that out?

@Flurbert - I was bored and I found myself making them explain a bit about this topic. Well maybe it was too much maybe.

My theory is that the military chopper crashed for some reason (you can see one further up the stream) and the survivors parachuted or something

No Cold Stream isn't canon, but if you really want it to be canon we can say it happens between Dark Carnival and Swamp Fever. I mean you crash in Cold Stream in the forest with helicoper from Dark Carnival and then crash again in Swamp Fever with helicoper from Cold Stream. Also helicopter in the Dark Carnival is different than the one crashed in Swamp Fever. The helicoper crashed in Swamp Fever is actually same as the one you leave with in Cold Stream.

It's basically an over site, they just forgot to add those details. Death Toll over all is probably the poorest made campaign from the first game (minus crash course, that campaign is just awful). Alot of the geometry on the terrain brushes is just horrid. Just look behind the starting point in level 1, the cliff and the road make this weird box shape, and you can actually see where it ends.

Similar in Blood Harvest, if you look towards that canyon on the left after you walk up the first hill, it literally looks like someone just made a big square and put a skybox texture on the furthest side. It's just.. a straight line going all the way across, and you can usually see skybox bleeding through the seam.

At one point I addressed this by adding a bunch of details to the maps for my personal use, the rescue vehicle from Crash Course into Death Toll 1 for example, I just put it behind the barrier with some trees leaning on it. Added some water to a couple Blood Harvest levels too (never made sense to me that there wasn't water in that campaign). Blood Harvest 5 is pretty sick with water under the train tracks and rain near the farm house.

File that under 'who gives a crap' I guess.

Walk out of the green house and look left, there's a big unused area with water and a boat over there. And oddly enough, you can actually use all the terrain over there to walk on and what not (properties that are out of the map almost always have zero collision/interaction possibility). I like thinking the map originally started over there and you had to get up to the green house to get weapons.

Well maybe you have two possibilities:

1) In the beginning, behind the waterfall, there is fire and from there it is probably the same helicopter that escaped from the parish. It's like saying "at last everything is over", and later they crash and make a last effort. And the helicopter that rescues them, is an explorer who is looking for the helicopter that crashed.

2) It may also be that cold stream is a before, like a flashback, from the moment of dark carnival to swamp fever. As an event before as I actually happened.
