It's not that far-fetched with my statement when I encounter noobs on over 70% of the pub games I go on. I'm not one of those old-timers that like to go private in groups to play so I'm just forced to play pub most of the time. Getting in a good team that's actually full of sensislbe people to make an enjoyable game is to say the least, really based on pure luck.
there's been over like what? Countless of the same steam sale for L4D2? The lowest it ever goes is $4 in my country.
Other games like CSGO also have just as frequent sales. Why isnt CSGO flooded with noobs then? Even in CSGO casual modes, most players there are very capable
These are 5 points i put out for you :
-Time management
-Value differences
-Outside attraction
-Casuality
-Replayablity
You can view them as both seperated or connected.
I'm sorry, but... have you ever played Dota? :D
Noobs will be noobs. Especially if you're getting more skills, you'll always be better than someone. So... Brace yourself :)
Wanted to play L4D2 again. I hope I'll have some time for that precious game.
Like i was very late to the party for battlefield 4 and star wars battlefront. Im runnin around with a lvl1 guy and crap guns while everyone who kills me are like lvl50 lol
Thats my own fault though because i refuse to pay EA's release prices, when in 6months its usually on sale for 10 quid.
I can symapthise with being kicked for using "advanced" tactics that only make sense when you know how the game works. The ammount of times iv been kicked by obviously newer players (i never really chk hours) when all im doing is spawn blocking bottlenecks or insta kill spots is rediculous.
Cant blame em though, I remember when i had low hours back in left 4 dead 1. I always wanted to move slow and as a unit, shopping all the way, then i started playing vs and wow its a different game completly. Going back to campain after some intense vs, you can see people doing the things you used to do but now understand are wrong. Its like looking back in time haha
1. Play Singleplayer first. Get your bearings and play through each map alone. This will greatly improve your skills at public Campaign games. You won't make anyone angry, as your only allies are the AI bots. (Note: You may struggle due to the bots being far from competent. If you do, gather some friends and play a private game.)
2. *Avoid Versus at first.* Stick to Campaigns until you know each map by heart & can navigate it with relative ease. Not only that but make sure you have basic combat down to mastery. Before even trying a pub Versus game, team up with friends and learn the ropes of Infected. Know how they work & what strategies fit into each SI.
3. I can't stress this enough. *Avoid anything above Normal.* Advanced & Expert are FAR out of your league when first playing. Only venture to this when you have maps memorized, combat down to a sinch & enough skill to stay alive through the overpowered CI and SI.
4. When in doubt, YouTube it. Want some strats? Check a video. Need help on running a map? Google it. You'll find so many answers it's not even funny. OR, alternative, ask veteran players willing to help. Don't bug them, but go to them for pointers you need help getting down.
Personally I enjoy the variety of play, it's all part of the game and adds to the dynamic of the gameplay to keep the game fresh.
The only way a new player can get any good is to play with good players. We've all been there and at some point you were probably guided through the game by someone who had played a lot longer. Personally I enjoy helping out new players, especially if they have a mic. it can be fun. At the end of the day it's only a game and some of the new players turn out to be really good if they don't get put off the game by the more experienced guys complaining. Were all new to a game we've never played :)
Actually, that's exactly what you're doing. Get off your high horse with your "over 1000 hrs" and your "veteran" BS. Instead of complaining, instruct the new players and help them out. Because as people have already pointed out in this thread, new players are discovering this game all the time (like kids that were too young to play the game when it was released but are now old enough to). I'm willing to bet there are HUNDREDS of games that were released 10 years ago or more that you haven't played before. Pick up one of those old games that you haven't played before and I guarantee you will be doing stuff you shouldn't (since you're just learning the game). Should we judge you for being new and making mistakes when playing a really old game? Because according to your childish and condescending mentality, I guess we should.
Your rant/complaint is invalid. You're just being (as the internet likes to put it) very "salty". If you can't deal with playing with new players, then don't play this or any multiplayer game at all.
