Game crashes to desktop when map loads [SOLVED]

Tried verifying cache, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, none worked.

Game loads fine, until I start up a level, then on the loading screen when the loading bar fills up, I get booted to desktop with no error.

Seems like you could have played before those crashes. Have you recently install any addons ?

Not really, have had the same as before. Besides, I disabled them all.

1) Let's make sure that's not a screen resolution issue first: Library > Right click on L4D2 > Properties > Set launch options and add:

-novid -window -noborder

2) Move those addons to another folder temporarily:

If you have manually installed it : Steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/addons/

If you have subscribed from the workshop : Steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead2/left4dead2/addons/workshop/

If there was an update, try to reverse that update (System's update or drivers'). You can also try system restore point.

Is it happening with official maps? custom maps?

I don't know, I haven't tried custom. Like I said, everything was disabled.

It's only to identify the source of the problem, seeing if official maps files are corrupted or not.

Can confirm that custom maps crash as well.

This is happening to me on official and custom maps.

Try and disable the Pinion ads, they have caused me the exact same problem in the past. Have a look here:

Wait you guys jumped from, its not working to solved with no comments... What was fix, I dont get these ads so I dont need to do above, but whenever i load any map on singleplayer or local itll crash to desktop
