VAC Secure Mode Disabled

I keep getting this error message within the developer console when I play this game. Doesn't matter if it's offline (which apparently is supposed to happen) or even online, whether through official dedicated servers, local servers, or the modded ones. A few friends and myself speculated that if I were to permanently enable it again, then I would finally be able to connect to online servers and play with the community. After the recent patch, I'm only able to play offline normally and with mods, but I'm still unable to play online no matter what I do. I have contacted Steam Support last week and they haven't been much help to me.

Did you have any addon? Try to disable them..
Did you put -insecure on the launch parameters?

Disabling any add-on doesn't make VAC secure mode go back to normal. And I never wrote anything in the launch options.

Installing/enabling addons does make (sometimes) the game "-insecure"
Only way to make sure is disabling all and restart the game..
