FIRST MOD is up! (and updated)
Since I made this post i've updated the mod. I often make additions so its better for anyone reading this to go to the mod section:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/549080/discussions/0/1319962663551027216/

for the latest updates

This sound mod originally focused mainly on small arms but has developed though a year of play on Mius Front to include almost everything else - revamped incoming artillery and explosions - bullet zips - guns of almost every caliber to name but a few. Its now updated to include all the new US weapons in TW1943.

I have made gunfire sound good rather than historically correct. The result is pretty emersive, dramatic and cinematic. It's developed really well since V1 and I for one cant go back to standard sounds (well I would say that having made it!) Here is the latest update:

I made this mod using the latest tools. Installation is outlined in the manual...and also below!

- put the gt3 file on you desktop or any location you remember
- start the game and open Update on the main screen (the version number top right of screen)
- press install and navigate to the gt3 file & ok it.
- make sure you press play to make it load.
- done

you did this other sound mod, right?
GTMF I mean I also like that a lot. But there is one confusing thing.... Running soldiers do a clicking sound....at first I thought my phone was broken...then I realized my boxes also do this

with baymonster`s mod I mean

All I have ever done was a combination of sounds that I thought sounded good together, most were from VAPOSM. I gave all the sounds a little more reverb because most of the shooting is done in open spaces. I am making a sound mod right now with vaposm and adding the American weapons as well.

Small arms is a great mod and it is pretty amazing james got it out so fast. Kudos! We all need to get together and combine each other's mods to make the grandaddy of all sound mods.

@JamesLX -- thanks for the great sound mod (sound fx being by far the weakest element of Graviteam's otherwise fantastic games...)

One question though -- I notice when tanks like the Pz III fire their main guns, you hear the report of the gun followed after a second by what sounds like an incoming artillery shell -- Is this intentional? It sounds a bit 'off' to me.

Thanks Sandman, I think I know the one you mean, its a sudden sonic whirrrring, right? There are 2 slots for tank/AT high velocity shells - I did replace one of those with a shorter version of an incoming light artillery shell I found. I also kept the longer version for one of the incoming light artillery sounds.

Basically I did it because I really really like that sound! I could send you a version with the orignal 2 tank/AT high velocity sounds if you like.

That's quite generous of you, JamesLX -- thanks!

Yes, what you describe does seem to be what I'm experiencing. I guess I find it a little jarring, like I'm watching/listening to the tanks firing but also reflexively looking around to see where enemy shells are dropping! Particularly with the Pz II, with its quick-burst autocannon, it just sounds odd to my ear.

I'd love to have the version with the original AT high velocity sounds.

Once again, thank you for working on this mod. The sound effects for OpStar/Mius Front/Tunisia have always sounded pretty anemic and not up to the standard of the games' amazing visuals, so this is a definite improvement and a 'must have,' in my book.
Hell yeah, this mod makes the game much better.
There are other sound mods, as well. But personally I prefer this one.
Is it intended, that you updated the TW43 mod, but not the Mius one?
