you did this other sound mod, right?
All I have ever done was a combination of sounds that I thought sounded good together, most were from VAPOSM. I gave all the sounds a little more reverb because most of the shooting is done in open spaces. I am making a sound mod right now with vaposm and adding the American weapons as well.
Small arms is a great mod and it is pretty amazing james got it out so fast. Kudos! We all need to get together and combine each other's mods to make the grandaddy of all sound mods.
Thanks kennie. Since I made the original post I've updated it - you can find it here + any future updates in the mod section:

One question though -- I notice when tanks like the Pz III fire their main guns, you hear the report of the gun followed after a second by what sounds like an incoming artillery shell -- Is this intentional? It sounds a bit 'off' to me.
Thanks Sandman, I think I know the one you mean, its a sudden sonic whirrrring, right? There are 2 slots for tank/AT high velocity shells - I did replace one of those with a shorter version of an incoming light artillery shell I found. I also kept the longer version for one of the incoming light artillery sounds.
Basically I did it because I really really like that sound! I could send you a version with the orignal 2 tank/AT high velocity sounds if you like.
Yes, what you describe does seem to be what I'm experiencing. I guess I find it a little jarring, like I'm watching/listening to the tanks firing but also reflexively looking around to see where enemy shells are dropping! Particularly with the Pz II, with its quick-burst autocannon, it just sounds odd to my ear.
I'd love to have the version with the original AT high velocity sounds.
Once again, thank you for working on this mod. The sound effects for OpStar/Mius Front/Tunisia have always sounded pretty anemic and not up to the standard of the games' amazing visuals, so this is a definite improvement and a 'must have,' in my book.
There are other sound mods, as well. But personally I prefer this one.
Is it intended, that you updated the TW43 mod, but not the Mius one?
