Alone in the Dark 3

Alone In The Dark 3 plank/walk in the air glitch (present in the GOG version)
Hi all,

I just wanted to know if in this version of Alone In The Dark 3 (Steam), the jump from the plank/walk in the air glitch (which happens in the GOG version) is also present ?

Here is a small video of it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOukjdw1xwM

Because of this glitch, it is impossible to complete the game. The first 2 games are fine, no such glitches.

Thank you,
Daniel

It might not help you after all this time, but maybe it will help others - YES, unfortunately the airwalk glitch near the plank happened to me just now. It happens in the previous room as well, you can walk to the eagle statue there.

Since then, I was able to pass this part of the game and I even posted a possible solution on GOG's AITD sub-forum, here is it :

Hi all,

I had this glitch yesterday, then today after work, I started a new game and the plank glitch didn't happened to me this time, but I did something different between the 2 games.

At the beginning of the game, you get a red token from a bottle that you must break and in the first game, I didn't used it on the piano in the saloon (on the right side from the entrance). Using the token on the piano will play a small movie and you will get the oil lamp too.

I got the oil lamp anyway somehow when I went down the trapdoor. However, the plank glitch happened to me later on the first game.

On the second game (today), I used the token on the piano, watched the small movie and got the oil lamp that way. At the jump the plank part, Edward jumped from it without any issues.

Before the second game, I also installed the french version of AITD3 (from CD) with DOSBox v0.74-3 (latest version) and I did the above steps (token on piano, watched the movie and got the lamp) and the jump was fine too with that version too.

So if you got the glitch, try these steps on a new save (just for the test) and let me know if it worked for you. It worked for me

Don't know if it was coincidence, but this worked for me. My first game I missed the stuff behind the bar and got the oil lamp as I fell down the hole. Bug manifested. Second try through using the token on the piano and it was fine. Thanks!

If you drop the night valet (or any item?) facing away from the staircase at the hotel where you jumped through the window you will keep walking backwards in the air and out of sight. You are now stuck.
