The 'white haired guy' is the default pregenerated character. But you can rename him, change his appearance, or delete him entirely and make whomever you want. Like the first game, he's kept in shadows til you get to the point you can change him.
I like how they did it in Stranger of Sword City, as Bishop mentioned. I hope this game has something similar, but for now I'm on the fence.
Its exactly like the previous game (so far at least). They talk to you in vague enough ways you can take it either way. But there doesn't seem to be any acknowledgement that any of your 6 are the main character. You're playing a team.
Its not like Stranger or Demon Gaze with a clearly defined main. I don't mind either approach since there's not really romantic/personal content in any of them where that would matter.
There is no 'hero' class. The site is incorrect. The default starter character starts out as a Samurai and you can change it to whatever other class you want. Or delete him entirely. Dual Wield is a feature of the Samurai class.
You can't change the gender of any character once they're created. You can delete the character entirely and make a new one of whatever gender you wish.
But nothing restricts you from picking a female portrait on a male character, if you're into that sort of thing.
