Iron Fisticle Vs Iron Crypticle
So I was considering getting Fisticle, but then this shows up and is stated as being a enhanced or expansion of Fisticle...

So to anyone who has played both, are the games "similar" or should I get both because both games offer something special?

They're similar in terms of mechanics. 4 way shooting, 8 way movement, choose an exit, fight boss, get to the bottom of the dungeons.

The difference is that Cryptical has a more arcade feel to it whereas Fisticle has a more structured approach. You keep the stat upgrades you get in Fisticle but not in Crypticle. Meaning Fisticle becomes easier the more you play. Fisticle is also 2 player only, while Crypticle is 4 player coop. Neither offers online multiplayer, not online.

I sorta wish Crypticle had constant stat building like Fisticle, but it doesn't make it a bad game that it doesnt. I dont have any friends to play 4 player with so I can't comment on that but I imagine it must be a blast.

Crypticle also has many more items and weapons (I think), so factor that in if you like variety.

Awesome thx for the answer, but have to say I got both games, usually when it comes to new "versions" of an older game being released the older version has something that is very different so got both :)

Much prefered the original, tbh.

Always starting out super slow, with the game's penchant for scattering bonus items all around the entire screen, making you trundle around for what feels like an age to collect them all after every stage, makes it much more of a chore to play :nonplussed_creep:

Loved Fisticle for a quick blast, when I couldn't be arsed to play anything else, could always start that up and get a little progress done. Not so much here.

Yeah, that's something i noticed too, it's not bad in endless mode, but starting the story mode?

It just feels slow and takes a while for things to heat up and get exciting, the main character just moves too slow and the axe just takes a bit longer to kill enemies than i would like.

Never played Fisticle though, and i don't really hate Crypticle, but man, i really wish there was a way to start up with the character being a tiny bit faster at the very least, what's in the game is great so far, and endless mode is fun, but the story mode?

Man, even just moving to get past the initial screen feels slow, particularly if you do the job of collecting coins before getting out, even on Hard it feels a bit slow.

Don't know if it's for balance purposes or not, but i kinda feel like the game would be a lot more fun and enjoyable if the character started a bit faster.

Hi - thanks for comments. In Crypticle you have the advantage of being able to build up stats faster if you master item collection. Getting chains of x800 (collecting food dropped by enemies quickly) will spawn stat upgrade icons (speed/damage etc).

A good way to keep the chain counter going is to collect other items like coins in between foods (as sometimes they drop far apart from one another, other pickups can act as `stepping stones` to keep the chain timer going).

Also in Crypticle you can unlock new items for the next playthrough which will help your progress.

Can't, 'cause they're from two different publishers. I bought this game mainly because of Aqua Kitteh merchant, but the game itself is a blast. The kitteh is a bonus.
