Solution for getting characters to run

After trying to run this game on more modern computers than what it was originally meant for since the 1990s, I've finally found a solution to be able to play this game and get the characters to run properly. I've been playing this game most of my life and always had issues with running on the PC version, until now.

If you open your local Steam files for the game and edit the dosboxAlone1.conf file and set the cycles line to "cycles=6000" this makes it run at the proper speed the game was supposed to run and then your run command will work every time. Enjoy!

I figured it was hard to pull it off because the game runs it faster now. I could get it working most of the time by getting good at pressing forward very fast

Open it in Notepad and type
