How to use oil lamp?

Hello!
I started this game and managed to get down by 1 (2 if you take the roof into consideration) level lower, where the knight is. I started running from it and entered a dark room. I had an oil lamp, filled with oil from the roof (50 is written in the upper left corner of the oil lamp), yet i have no idea on how to use it. I tried using it and pressing space but nothing. How can I use it?

You can avoid aggroing the armor by staying away from it. The opposite side door to the one you took has a room with matches in, but you need to sneak around the edge to avoid aggroing the ghost to get the matches

The dark room has a heavy statue in it, throw it at the armour to kill it, other than that it has no use. Good luck if you ever return!

Filling the lamp is fine, but you still need to find matches or a lighter and use it. You can get matches from the kitchen
