I'd recommend buying the game AS OF NOW on GOG as it's both cheaper for the three dos games + you get extra stuff like full soundtrack downloads + manuals as opposed to steam where it's just the barebones download of being the game.
The only benefit steam gives you is access to guides + steam reviews but steam reviews isn't really important as everyone knows what this game is like.
I see. Hmm, that's a bit odd.
The game is still a good buy, but I hope too that this will be fixed by Steam.
That's because this is the CD-ROM version, not the floppy disk version.
I remember the "Sherlock Holmes" games had similar problems. They had a glitch where the connection to the steam database was missing and some tickets by myself later, it was fixed. But this one seems different.
