1.8.2 – Five new languages

Oct 24

Patch 1.8.2

Five new languages: Korean, Indonesian, Thai, Turkish and Polish. The game is now available in 14 languages, from the buttons to the letters. In these five languages the narrator reads in English for now. Thanks to everyone who asked for Korean!
Your hero background in the Gear & Soul page. If you picked a background on the Skins page, it now also shows faintly behind your equipment, with its film if you own it. The portrait at the top of the Gear & Soul page no longer sits on a blue panel.
Settings and language choice. In Chinese, Japanese and Korean, the language buttons in the settings were in the wrong tab. Now they are under “Display”, like in every language. The language bar on the title screen wraps neatly in small windows.

Hotfix 1.8.2b

Turkish and Polish: All special letters such as ğ, ş, İ, ą, ę, ł and ż now appear in the game's own font.

Secret Garment

I am trying to get the secret garment from the ashen night event. The description seems pretty clear, you can ignore the pumpkins. The most likely way in my theory is to get it as a rare drop from the Trick-or-treat bag. I opened about 200 and didnt get the garment yet. I also considered farming the foes in the night raids, but I think its less likely. Does anyone know how to get it and is able to tell me me if im on the right way? Thank you...

1.8.1 – A Voice for Every Language

Oct 23

Patch 1.8.1

The narrator has been completely re-voiced — and now reads aloud in all nine game languages. Letters, chronicles, map, heroes, world bosses, the Ash Tower, the Ash Wound and the intro can now also be heard in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Chinese — before, only in German and English. We are also working on bringing the game to more languages.
Your language choice now applies from the start. A new save takes over the language you picked, for text and voice. Before, it could fall back to English or your system language. This also shows the photosensitivity warning on first launch in your language.
Translations and texts. The map texts for the Chasm and “Beyond the Causeway” and the tip about Gold and Ember Marks are now translated. The world boss page now names what really reveals a weakness: study or Morvane's Fang (the quill only works in the hunting grounds). In Chinese, lifesteal now has the same name everywhere. The bonfire now tells you when the Ember Crucible is holding the stock back for itself (thanks, Bunk3rizEd), and the Homestead and Ash Turning bonuses make clear that the slot in the Next chain queues one more recipe, not an extra slot running at the same time (thanks, Inusansae and masver1).
Display fixes (thanks, masver1!). In the translated languages, the firemaking levels now say “unlocked” instead of “not done”. Long fish names on the “Catch of the Day” board no longer cover anything, and the depth slider at the Mirror Lake fits fully on screen at 110% zoom too. Two Russian names from the Mirror Lake are corrected.

1.7.6 Closer to the Sources – new faces for foes and bosses

Oct 21

Patch 1.8.0

New in the Steam version: backgrounds for your hero. The new “Skins” page has three backgrounds you can buy to support development voluntarily. They are purely visual and give no gameplay advantage. You buy them in Steam and see the price in the Steam window. The default background stays free for everyone.
Combat easier to read (thanks, Holy!). Next to the combat log you now always see “Where does my damage come from?”, plus a damage meter: damage per source as DPS or biggest hit, damage taken and healing. Ability tooltips show the real calculation with numbers, lifesteal names its cap in HP, and clicking an activity on the left jumps straight to the recipe or gathering spot.

Addendum: Hotfix 1.7.6b

Ash Leech explained (thanks, Holy). The stance tooltip and the lifesteal note in the bonuses now say that the stance's healing works on top of the lifesteal from your gear, each with its own cap. The effect itself is unchanged.

Patch 1.7.6

Closer to the sources (build 847):

Jump to the source now hits its target (thanks, Holyjester and Fabian). Clicking a foe in the Codex and “To the source” lead to the right card, which scrolls to the middle and glows briefly with a pulsing border.
Source lines in the item window. The foes under “Sources” can be clicked and lead to their card.
Frame “The Full Hall” (full figure). The small dark wedges at the upper arch corners are now filled with stone.
Steam version: connection to Steam. If Steam starts only after the game, the game now connects by itself afterwards, and achievements are reported to Steam from then on.

Patch 1.7.5

New faces for the world (build 845):

New art for foes and bosses. Nearly all foes, dungeon bosses, world bosses and titans now appear in one dark, unified style, with head, feet and weapons fully in frame. The Ash Cards carry the new art.
New art shows up right away. Foe, boss and card images now reload with every update, even if your browser still held old ones in its cache.
Bestiary: what counts for “Chronicler of Ash” (thanks, Fabian). The Codex now shows a note above the foe list on which foes are not in the register. The counting itself has not changed.

Sorry, seems cool. But there is just too much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ going on for an IDLE game. it think its designed to feel confusing and not in a good way. Feels more like a deceptive trap. I dunno. Cool music but other than that it has way to much scrolling, i can not tell wtf i have is good or bad. u can not just open ur inventory and compare. its deceptive. Uninstalled and set to ignore. THE MUSIC is great. the rest, not so much.

Find the Cinder-brat

Can someone tell me where to find this "ash-bellows" (Aschenbalg)? I need it to upgrade my belt, but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance for the help!

Couple of Bugs

1. Ashefalter companion has the source in German on the English client. 2. Clicking "to the foe" on the Hunt contract page and Blacksmith page does not actually send you to the Hunt enemy page. It just opens my ranged stats page. 3. Fishing fishes up "Trout", while Cooking requires "Ember Trout". It still lets you cook with "Trout", but the non-matching names was confusing....

How acquire the companion for 10K Ember Marks

Hello, Pardon a noob question. I see the companion which costs 10,000 ember marks at the start of a run. When I finally save up the required Ember Marks, he is no longer shown on the buy list. Is this some kind of timing thing that I am missing? Thanks in advance!...

Kinda a Runescape or Melvore Idle roguelike version that has the Darksouls 3 ash and ember theme.
Clearly tons of AI usage but for once with actually good-looking AI art.
If you like grinding up jobs and unlocking stuff and min maxing equipment with a surprisingly fair and balanced system only to burn it down to grow stronger and faster from the ashes again, then this is a game for you.
I ain't regretting spending my 12 bucks here.
