I'm excited to announce that RAT GAME is finally out!! One chef vs several rats… who would win? There’s only one way to find out!

This game has somehow been an entire two years of development (!), but I’m incredibly proud of how it’s come out. Huge shout out to Alexander van der Kruijf at Tumult Kollektiv for his work on the music & sound design.

As well as thrilling rats vs chef action, the final version has a robo-chef, a gun, supernatural secrets, and… rat hats. Thank you so much to everyone for your support, I hope you have a wonderful time with RAT GAME! If you have any questions, check the FAQ down below.

What's the minimum number of players?

We recommend playing with at least 3 players in versus mode, and at least 2 in co-op mode. But the game is definitely more fun with more friends!

You can also take up RoboChef in co-op mode on your own, but it’s pretty tough...

What's the maximum number of players?

Rat Game was designed to be playable with up to 8 players. Technically the lobbies allow up to 10 players, but we've never tested it, so your mileage may vary. Let us know if it works!

How many levels does the game have?

There is one level: the restaurant. During development we’ve decided it's more fun to have one very detailed level than multiple ones that are more or less the same.

The way you play through the level is different every time. The sabotages the rats will do are randomized each game - the game picks a couple of tasks from a total set of 16 tasks. The locations that the rats enter the restaurant are also randomized every game, as well as item spawns.

How many hours of playtime will I get out of it?

Games are different every round so you can keep playing for a long time, but to discover all the content, unlock all the achievements and unlock every cosmetic item will probably take around 3 hours.

What’s coop/versus mode?

• In versus mode, one of the players will be selected to be the chef - all other players will be rats.

• In co-op mode, every player is a rat and the chef will be controlled by a scary robot 🤖

Help, my friends can't join my lobby?

You can choose the lobby visibility in the "Start Game" post-it menu. If it's set to Invite Only, you'll have to invite them with the "Invite Friends" post-it in the lobby. If it's set it to Friends Only they'll be able to join through the Steam Overlay.

Are there public lobbies?

We don’t have public lobbies: they’re difficult to moderate for a small team and we think the game is more fun to play with friends.

Will there be more content?

We’re not sure yet! It will depend a bit on the reception of the game. We’re a small team, so making a lot of new content is tricky, but we'll think about it!

Did you use AI in the game's development?

No AI was used in the development of Rat Game. Everything you see was handcrafted on the computer.
