Performance Issues on Macbook Pro
Hi there

I have some performance issues in running the game on Macbook Pro in Mac OS. Even with resolution low, shadows low and lights low the game framerate is really low in some areas.
The menu screen runs fine but the world map screen and especially Zombie tombs run at something like 5 fps. Part of the Tomb will run fine but when you scroll with the keys to a section with player characters the fps drops to 5. Moving out of those sections gets the fps back to normal.

Running the game in Bootcamp Windows mode on the same machine runs fine at max settings.

Games like Darkest Dungeons run fine on the machine in Mac OS.

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz
Memory: 16 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M

What OS X version are you running?

macOS Mojave 10.14.5
I have the exact same issue. A pixel art game, lagging as hell on a MBP. I guess the game wasn't tested on macOS at all -_-

MPB 2016
2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
16GB
Radeon Pro 450 2 GB
10.14.4 (not sure if klaus is using a beta because 10.14.5 is not out yet).

Now that macOS Mojave 10.14.5 is out of Beta and available to everyone I was hoping that the games performance would improve. Sadly it has not. The game is still unplayable. It runs fine for like 1 second and then it turns into a slideshow.
Games like Sims4 and Darkest Dungeon run fine on the same machine in macOS.

Any status on performance improvements to the Mac version?

We are currently looking into this, the problem seems to be a issue with the opengl drivers of OSX.
As apple decided to not support OpenGL in the future we have to find a way to work around it.
We are not yet 100% sure what it is but hope we will find an solution soon.

A Status update on the issue:

We do have some folks that had the same issue with their macs, that after they updated to the newest OSX Catalina, that the game now runs well.

It seems that Apple has fixed something there in the drivers. Please let us know if this is the case as on all systems we have the problem does not exist anymore.
