How to regenerate Health
I just began playing the game.
When traveling from one travelpoint (these big circles on the map) to another and getting from one fight to the next one, I lose health but the health of the characters does not regenerate itself.
I have not looted any kind of health packs -> my characters simply died in the second fight already.

Is there any way to solve this? What if you simply don't find any healthpacks to loot? The expedition just seems to be over then. :(
Did anyone figure out how to still continue play the expedition?

Thanks!

Maps have rest sites you can go to (marked by a tent) that fully heal you. Additionally, some events can heal your health or armor.

The game is designed and balanced around health and injury being dangerous. Attempting to just HP tank your way through combat may get you through a fight or two, but you're going to get attritioned out of the adventure. Even when you find health items, you'll rarely get them in numbers large enough to be able to endure everything.

Play smart, play safe, and weigh your options. Stick to cover and prioritize targets.

You ran out of fuel meaning your character go by foot and loose health. This is often a death sentence for your adventure.

As for regenerating health, somtimes you can find locations where you can rest to regenerate. Other than that you need a Character with the Skill to use healing items and then you need to bring, buy or find these items.

Having a healing item also needs a character to have some kind of healing skill?

Damn this game is difficult lol

If you want to use it in combat, you need the skill. Out of combat, you can activate them from the inventory.

I would add that "out of combat" means on the overland map (which is what I call the world map anyway). :)

Thanks everyone for the quick replies!
Already died 2 times playing the first chapter but I will try it another time.

Oh and don't forget you need the Sewing Kit item (it's a passive ability on some characters) to 'repair' armor, the blue meter. I think if you have the repair kit passive you might be able to repair while on battle map? I could be wrong. :)

Some characters have really thick armor Like 40-50 armor points; and others are just flimsy clothing with single digit armor point. So if you have a repair kit that repairs 20-30 armor, using it on the clothing could be a waste.

Armor gets really really thick later. One of my characters is floating 86 points off just an epic. Mind you, that burns out pretty fast in the later missions if you're just trying to face tank with it, but it holds.

And no, you can't repair gear with just the repair kit skill. Need the items too.

Do epic/legendary etc. items roll random stats or are they always identical?

I think no item rolls randomly?

Damn I nearly beat the first chapter but then I died because the last living enemy (a dog) killed me.
This is so hard to beat, although I have set all the parameters to very easy. :/
I also healed myself up once in the battle with the healer (which died later).

There's no random item rolls, but there is the three tiers of item quality. Additionally, Legendary items can have special features. I have a pistol and a set of medium armor that both change some of the game's rules.

Are those legendary items top quality? I got a tarnished sniper rifle of legendary quality and aside of being a beast so far it has no unique property I could identify.

Afaik they just sport better stats.

Yea, just found a Splendid Legendary Weapon, just better stats, nothing new?

Edit: Seems those Legendary guns can have different kinds of damage type. Found a splending Legendary Pistol with Absurd Damage and Armor Piercing on top.
