Is this Indiana Jones meets Into The Breach?
I like both. So if it's that then that is great :)

I'm not sur.e

It's more XCOM like combat than Into the Breach. Travelling is more like FTL including story events and random outcomes.

Well, it's more XCOM if XCOM had 2-5 minute long battles. :steamhappy:

I don't think Into the Breach is that far off as comparison in terms of the battles being Minimalist and not very long to resolve. But it lacks the environmental terraforming type aspect of Into the Breach.

Also, I'm slightly disappointed the one clearly Indiana Jones-inspired character does NOT have a bullwhip. I mean, come ON! :steamfacepalm:

Never played into the breach so can't comment on that. This to me seems like what xcom should lean towards. Same combat but a deeper rpg system including random loot. Far more investment in characters this way.

Yeah, basically like Halfway or XCOM for the combat. It pretty much shares nothing in it's core with Into The Breach.

It's pretty much FTL meets Indiana Jones with turn based combat.

It's like Into the Breach minus the mechs and the missiles and the terraforming and the space aliens and everything. *poker face*

I would compare it to Darkest Dungeon.

FTL, Into the Breach, The Curious Expedition, Renowned Explorers, Slay the Spire, etc. are more about each run in itself. Here you have more "perpetual" advancement that makes me think of Darkest Dungeon more than anything else.

Although, unlike Darkest Dungeon, your characters won't die.

All roguelites have some sort of progression/advancement. I don't think it has much in common with DD besides both having some general roguelike/roguelite elements.

Yeah, but getting new ships in FTL or new explorers in The Curious Expedition is not the same as levelling up characters. The first time and the last time you use the starting ship, the game is the same. It doesn't get stronger.

Also, the focus of DD and PW (Pathway) is "on camp". You can grind money, even on failed runs. Die in TCE, and you are back to zero with the starting equipment Darwin offers.
