Visiting every location on map
Hello, anyone been visiting, going to every location on the map (be it gaming OCD or just want to have a feel of accomplishment, or exploring)? Been doing it few times on normal and easy mode, but still seems harsh. That is fuel is the biggest problem. Could not and will not do in on extreme mode/settings since fuel runs out quickly. But anyways, anyone playing on normal settings, trying to always visit every location on the map? Am usually out of fuel and have to walk 3-4 locations while using medkits or have 1-4 fuel left just before doing the final objective. I try to jot down which direction/path to take with the least amount of repetitive returns (going back and forth on the same locations). On chapter 2, been always running out of fuel when trying to cover every locations. Havent dont chapter 3 yet, will try to this week. If just going for the main objective instead of visiting/exploring every location, its no problem, have a lot of fuel left over.

It´s not intended to visit every location, you know ! It´s just your decision; normally I go straight for marked shops or additional guys to hire and chose the shortest path. Only when I´m near the end target and have enough fuel, I go to more waypoints too.
And I would never ever walk and heal with medikits since they are too important to use in/after combat in the later stages!

Yup. Visiting every location gives more chances to find loot, but it's risky.

I always make a b-line for shops and new recruits, and I buy ALL the gas and ammo.
Money is no object.

I still find Adventure 1 frustrating cause it feels like the maps generated space out vendors and oasis in a way that discourages me from exploring.

I've had more fun on Adventure 2's map in terms of poking around a bit more -- it seems like the game almost always doles out a little fuel right when I need it (even if I don't have the character with the fuel-finding bonus)-- though I try to reign myself in from too much Go Visit Everywhere :)

Hi. For me, I guess its like Checkers or Othello, trying to uncover each undiscovered locations. At least in chapter/adventure 1 (A Friend In Need). Each map so far seems different, but when i start off, i try to draw an imaginary line or thread from point a to point x. Take the best route so not to cross back several times on the same locations. For chapter 2 thou its very challenging to visit every location and still make it to objective (for me). When I first played chapter 2, didnt know fuel was going to carry over. Thought you get a refresh/refill up (like you do when starting out a new game/map). Now i have to manage fuel in chapter 2 if i am going to continue visiting every locations. Each to their own thou lol. Little advice if you/anyone going to do all the locations, bring a few extra heal type kits (for when you run out of fuel and needing that extra umph for that last 2-3 locations before the main objective.
Hello. When i started out, i replayed chapter one a few times to understand the game better. I did not know you do not have to visit every locations. I thought you were suppose to go to all those locations lol. Failed few times. So since then, been visiting every locations. Would be nice if we could get a one time reset or relearn skills, now that all characters have been unlocked and all are level 6. Found out some characters dont need or dont use certain skills as well as others.

Replayed chapter one & two on normal mode is enough challenging, but on extreme mode, can not do it. Can not visit every locations (at least i can not). Rarely do you get to have 3 characters in chapter one, from one of those hidden locations on map. One could add team members to the party from rescuing or saving them, or paying the villagers in chapter 2. If you visit every locations, you get 2-4 times add/switch team members.
Fuel does carry over, so watch your fuel. If you finish the first map with 2 fuel, you will have only 2 fuel to start in the second map, finish second map with 11 fuel, 11 fuel will be with you in third map.

Going to every locations so far is challenging for me, trying to keep the team alive and progress forward to objective. Its kinda of like chess (well for me). Its kinda like Othello turning over the locations chips/circle so they all are orange (or what ever color that is lol). It helps A LOT if you have extra to several healing kits (if you wanting to visit all the locations). Plus you sometimes find epic items (yet to find legendary from locations), unlock a lot of achievements, and manage to make it to main objective. Be ready to take a lot of damage from walking when your team is out of fuel. More team members, more healing kits you will have to use up.

Also one could just make b-line to objective, quickest and shortest route. Ok going to get coffee now.

Risk and reward. I tend to work along the shortest route to the marker unless I find extra fuel as I go, then I'll hit some extra spot for a chance at more loot.
Hi. If this helps, try using the W, A, S, D when you begin battle, it shows Planning Phase, try to use W, A, S, D to give you an idea of where enemies are (if any shown).
Hello. Been running chapter/adventure 5 few times since. Am not able to visit all the locations all the time. Seems once I get to sector 2, end visiting either all of left side or all of right side on normal & casual settings. On hard/extreme mode, can only make Bee line to final objective. Still not able to visit all locations on hardest settings in sector 2. Sector 1 seems a little easier to visit all locations on casual, normal and hardest settings (but not always). Just bring a few Pain Killers.
This is about the average loot/kills lately.
