Corrected weapon names of AKM, M4A1, M4 and fixed item descriptions.
Made it possible to sell surplus Colt M1911 to several arms dealer.
Replaced broken duplicate shotguns with explosive RPG-18 ammunition.
Swapped SVD scope and knife upgrades with AKM sight and Colt range.

After installing your 2.4.2 patch i got a lot of errors with unable game start! Here is logs: https://disk.yandex.ru/d/kgnBNhCEyjQ9yg
I have licensed physical copy of Xenus 2 and it works ok with your 1.8 patch, installed over v1.6, but 2.4 and 2.4.2 immediately crash the game with same error. Only full game folder backup rescues me from endless reinstall Xenus 2...
My current config for old games: CPU: Core i7-3770, Video: Nvidia GTX 980 4gb, RAM: 24GB Corsair DDR3 1600 CL 9, SSD: Patriot Burst 240GB (Sata 3) OS: Windows 7 Enterprise x64 (licensed)

I wouldn't know why 2.4 should be more prone to crashing than any of the earlier patches. It only changes one file, resource.qrc. Please backup your 1.8 version of that file and replace it with the 2.4 version in the common files folder! Does it help? If not, the other reason could be the fixed VERENDER3.dll file, which was created years ago, but it seems you skipped all those version. Maybe the DRM messes with this when using an original Russian game version? The original file is called VERENDER3.dll.11 and is included. What happens if you use this instead?

I already tryed to use VERENDER3.DLL newer version than my exist - in version 2.4x i got another error messege - missing material SP_WHITE_ALPHA_GLOW. Even when I placed this material directly in materials folder (i just make copy of ingame unpacked matherial SP_WHITE_ALPHA.mat, rename it to SP_WHITE_ALPHA_GLOW.mat and add glowing property from another glow matherial by editing string values) - i've got another error (sorry, but log was deleted when i reinstall the game). Possible you could share your VERENDER3.dll or include it to your next patch? I have no steam version of this game, but i think there is an updated version of VERENDER3.DLL and (possibly) some fresh DLL's more. And i was surprised, when i couldn't find SP_WHITE_ALPHA_GLOW.mat in unpacked game resources folder...

I was replaced my original file with your included VERENDER3.DLL.11 - file is absolutely same by size with my existing, some difference with datestamp and no more. Both, the fixed VERENDER3.dll and the 1.1 version from Steam are already included in the patch, which changes no other dlls.

I have no steam version of this game, but i think there is an updated version of VERENDER3.DLL and (possibly) some fresh DLL's more.

There might be some other dll that has been changed between retail and Steam version and the mismatch might cause the problems. Can you please list the sizes of all your dlls? Maybe we can figure out the differences and then I could include the needed file in the next patch.

And i was surprised, when i couldn't find SP_WHITE_ALPHA_GLOW.mat in unpacked game resources folder...

This would mean that there could be changes in the grp files too. I have these texture files:
textures_0.grp = 910.796 KB and textures_1.grp = 200.868 KB.

I expected as much as this seems to be the original file. Steam might have changed other files though, check out my other post here!

I replace all DLLs with yours in broken 2.4.2 game folder and got same error. Then i restore DX9RENDER.DLL from backup - nothing changes. Then i restore VERENDER3.DLL and SUCCESS! So for Russian retail version need this DLLs: game.dll, vital.dll, VELoader.dll from your archive and DX9RENDER.DLL + VERENDER3.DLL from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m88H1yJQK8WqnTLdMjNV6HBWAiaaDEJi/view?usp=share_link
I glad we can mark this issue as "solved".

It's still not exactly clear to me: you added game.dll, vital.dll and VELoader.dll from my archive to the Russian version while keeping the other old 1.1 files and it worked? And what about the new VERENDER3.DLL? Because this fixed the bug that keeps the game running after exit. Also can you please upload the 1.1 versions of the files above to include into the patch as backup?

Yes, i was add 3 yous DLLs into BROKEN by 2.4.2 patch game folder and restore 2 DLLs from my working backup with 1.8 patch. To be sure - this is my step-by-step installation log:
1. Install game from original DVD.
2. Install official patch 1.0.1
3. Install your 1.6 patch, then gameplay test (Start cutscene only, backup game folder).
4. Install your 1.8 patch, then gameplay test (Start cutscene and few quests, save game, backup game folder with overwrite)
5. Install your 2.4.2 patch (crash)
6. Start this discussion
7. Replace DLLs
8. All work OK.
New version VERENDER3.DLL not work on Russian retail version. Game crash in few second after start. I see the Deep Shadows logo screen with sound, then game crash with message that i show in previous log.
