Tetris still needs a few more nerfs IMO but since the game has to fit The Tetris Company's guidelines, I don't know what else can be done.
I really don't think there's any way to fix this. Just give us matchmaking filters so the Puyo players and Tetris players can go our separate ways and forget mixed versus ever happened.
plus, Tetris garbage comes with single holes to clear their lines, and that counts for sending garbage, too, so the garbage actually ends up helping more than hurting. If it even becomes relevant in the first place.
In lower-level play, Puyo does overpower Tetris, I hear. But fundamentally, Tetris is way stronger due to how garbage affects it. And there's really no way to change the garbage to where it hurts Tetris.
i'm thinking that if one is garbage at Tetris, this would be true. A master Tetris player would have an easier time with the game, but Puyo Puyo is more casual, I think
