How is a lower-skill player meant to practice against real people?

I wanna practice playing Tetris against real people on this game, but the people I keep facing just end up destroying me with Triple T-Spins and back-to-back Tetris combos. How do I practice, aside from doing marathons and 40Ls?

So far I'm on an 18 loss streak in Puzzle League.

it'd be great if there was a classic tetris ruleset in puzzle league, i'd be more at home then tbh

i'd say practice vs puyo bots. they will eviscerate you if you dont harass constantly. practice your opener -> get rekt by a 7 chain -> restart -> practice your opener----

This allows you to restart quickly, not having to wait for the next opponent, but you still get wrecked if you fail

i did this for 4 wide practice and now i can beat dark prince 20% of the time with a 4 wide opener.

remember to pick the harder bots like Lemres, Ecolo, Dark Prince and Ex. If they're too hard try Rulue or maybe schezo

__ i got decent at puyo by playing vs dark prince constantly so i think it'll work for tetris too.

I'd just stick to practising on Marathon for score and setting up T-Spins and Sprint for learning speed and back to back Tetris combos. Very very rarely are you going to see lower skilled players (or never) playing PPT on the PC version, it's all the pros only now. You'd find lower-skilled players on the Switch version though. I'd suggest you make a new discussion for new friends with a similar ranking to you, maybe you will find a few people to play that way.

There are many ways. You can try endurance mode on VS mode. And grind to see how many bots you can kill, that always gets me warmed up. Or you can go on to the hard drop discord server and either find someone of your level or find someone good that's willing to teach you how to get better. I myself train vs Zetris AI bot by slowly upping its level and speed as I get better.

But Zetris is not public.

So I suggest downloading Misamino bot - change the garbage type to messy and garbage blocking to off.

It's the closest to Zetris.

18 loss streak? hah. low numbers. jk my highest was like a 12 loss streak. keep playing puzzle league until you match against some dude in the 2000s, probably around your skill level. then yeah just keep doing that, otherwise you could play tetris online poland w/ plenty of low skill players.
sauce: was in low 2000s, after like a couple months of doing this exact method i was noticely better at tetris due to playing against high skill levels, and around the 3800s range atm. it makes every victory just so much sweeter, and when you somehow manage to beat someone in 8k-10k due to them having a off day or smnth its great. if you'd like we could play some games.
