Extreme slow down/weird FPS issue

I love the game but I'm having some weird slow down issues. It's almost like an old 8 bit and 16 bit game when there were too many sprites on screen. The frame rate seems stable at 60 but the slow down still happens. I got to the second area and if feels like slow motion every time I jump or go into a new room. Unfortunatly this makes the game sort of unplayable so I hope a patch is incoming.

Hi - We're seeing reports of some odd framerate situations like that, especially with higher refresh rate monitors. The team is digging into the issue now. Hoping to roll out a fix soon. Let us know if you see any other odd behavior with the game!

Update: When I was having that issue I was playing on a 4K tv, 60hrz or possibly 59hrz only so it isn't a high refresh rate monitor. I have since booted the game up on my deasktop display (hooked to the same computer) and it runs flawlessly. The desktop monitor is also 60hrz. If it would help I can give you my other system specs. The OS is Win 10 BTW.
