When exactly should i jump?
Hey,

as someone who never watched a NBA match i dont really know much about basketball. But this game is defiantly fun. Anywys: I dont really know when to jump (Y on Controlelr) to defend/get the Ball. Most of the time im also jumping in the direction of my own Basket (if you can even say that in english). It looks like my players hand is almost at the ball but the next second the enemy team get points.

The controls also say LT + A lets the AL player jump, but it never worked til now. Is there any bug or do i have to consider anything for him to jump?

I would also appriciate any other help/tips for this game to get beter.

Thanks!

I have the same problems. AI blocks 50% of my balls. If I block 1 single ball in a game I'm happy :D Also I dont get how to nockdown a player, who is about to dunk. I Jump and press tackle, but doesnt seem to work for me.

as for the AI player jump, I have no idea when I can use it. Only works 1/10 times I try, even when it looks like the ai is at a good spot to do it.

the LT+A is an alley oop. the way its listed in the controls is awful. what you actually want to do with that specific move is either hold or tap LT on offense. Eventually, the AI player will jump towards the net for a dunk. You want to press A to pass it to them when they are flashing blue in the air. If you do it too late, you'll throw the ball at an empty space and lose possession.

To block shots by jumping, you want to just wait until it looks like the other player is about to shoot and you have to kind of guess and press Y in front of them to block it. Having a player with a higher block stat seems to help with this a lot, and for blocking dunks, you just kind of have to press y between them and the basket and hope your player makes contact with theirs. You CAN jump towards them from behind and occasionally block the shot as well.

Just to give you a visual indication, if the ball flashes white when you try to block, that means your player made contact with the ball and either blocked it or swiped at it, which is a good thing. They can still score, but it lets you know that you did everything right.

You need to be standing in front of the person who's going to shoot, and jump at about the same time they do. It works far better as a big man with a good block stat, a little guy with a block stat of 2 isn't going to block much of anything.

To block a dunk you actually want to be behind them and jump when they start the dunk. Note that layups still need to be blocked from the front, so a smart player can try to choose the one that you're not in position to block and there's not too much you can do about it, but at least it's only 2 points.

If the ball is already mostly towards the net, it's too late to stop it (in real NBA, even if you catch the ball on the way down to the net, this is called "goaltending" and they still get the points. In NBA Playgrounds there's no goaltending but you still can't grab the ball). Unless they miss the shot, of course, in which case you can rebound, though rebounding is a little picky in this game.

I assume the LT + A thing is the Alley Oop, in which case what you do is hold LT to make the AI player go up for the alley oop, then press A to pass to them. It doesn't make the AI player try to block. They'll attempt this on their own sometimes but don't expect too much, if you really want to get the block switch to the relevant character and do it yourself.

Rebounding and blocking is difficul and strange. I am used to NBA 2k games or even NBA Jam but everything's different in Playgrounds. Most of the time I cannot get the rebound.
