Driver Booster 4 for Steam

So this is a scam?
Looks like this program does nothing but colect usage data, so many negative reviews one is backed with near 400 upvotes.

Just wanted to confirm this program seems to be a malware or just not effective at all?

How is this allowed while my legitimate application can not be placed on Greenlight anymore after the "Steam Cleaner" fiasco?

It could be legit, but chances are it's just like any other adware client that claims to "cleans & boosts the performance of your pc".

There's really only one real Driver you need to update and thats your GPU Driver. Because if all other drivers are working normally, why bother risking an update to one which may break something you'll notice.

Nothing in this world is free. They paid developers to work on this software, they got bills to pay, websites to host.

You pay for this software, if not with money then with your personal information. I wouldn't call it scam. I would call it "an obviously reason to not click on download button".

Nowdays Microsoft Windows already includes 90% of the drivers. Rest is your graphic card. Those drivers it does not include you easily grab from the vendors website of your motherboard.

I mean literally every hardware you buy is plug&play. 10 Years ago it wasn't and searching for drivers was annoying. But again, this time it is not really necessary.

I was using the Free version and it did update drivers like it said after i went in depth and checked. So yes I bought the full and same thing. It did what it said it would do. People are to damn paranoid anymore. Check into things yourself instead of relying on others. Reviews are not always correct.

I don't want to risk having to reinstall everything again on my computer, I used to do that all day when I was young and had the time to spare testing all kinds of stuff.

Now I have obligations and I'd like to have my spare time with my loved ones not fixing machines.

That's why I "rely" on reviews.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a scam. Nothing to buy besides pro version. Free version works well although it may have caused my pc to crash when I aborted a driver installation on the 21st of last month. Apparently something tragic happened and I had to order recovery disks from the internet and do a factory reset on my pc. I couldn't even get the damn computer to do a factory reset that is native to my system. A file was missing so it would crash every time. The restore disks I ordered fixed the problem but I'm thinking the whole problem was because I abandoned a driver update and driver booster screwed my sh!t up.

From my experience, before running a driver updating, my PC worked great, then I updated all my drivers checking the date and version to ensure and I installed them.
Now there is an unknown device in my device manager that points to a 3.0 USB in the properties of the device.

Not only that, DB4 now reports there are 3 errors on devices, but SURPRISE! I can only fix them in Driver Booster if I pay for the Pro version.

So, firstly the program screws up your PC for free and then it asks you money for repairing what it previously ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Congratulations, Steam for allowing this...

(I will write this same message in a new separate thread).
