Fine with me, I actually like Hwang more.
Anyway, hWang looks good. Has had nice stages back in the day.
Imagine that they add a character in the season pass 3 that is so similar to another character in the season pass 2. It won't happen. They have already problems to justify the price of the season pass.
And to be honest, while I would prefer Yun-seong in a vacuum, if I already had Hwang then I would prefer a more different character like Aeon or Viola.
I bet when Hwang and Yun are both out and Rock is announced for Season 3, some people will complain he's just an Astaroth clone.
But Cassandra and Amy are much more developed and beloved characters. ♥♥♥♥, Amy has a huge and sinister fandom behind XD Those characters are much better stablished.
Both Amy and Hwang were bonus character clones in SC3. Then in SC3: Arcade Edition both were decloned and turned into real unique fighters. Then pretty much nobody actually played SC3: Arcade Edition. Then in SC4 Amy came back and Hwang didn't even though at that point they were equally developed and deserving to come back.
That's the main reason Amy is more established than Hwang and it's kinda BS and unfair. I think it's time to fix this whole situation.
TBF, SCIII was when Nightmare actually had his own moveset. NM in SCI was alternate frame data for an otherwise identical movelist and he was Siegfried proper in SCII.
Amy felt unique but Hwang looked like the stereotypical hero. Just, I mean... look at them. Amy is pure fanservice. Strange fanservice but anyway. Hwang is any good guy with a sword.
At least Yun-seong was dumb and funny. I never saw anything interesting about Hwang.
i've made my salt about the splitting of the moveset in 3 no secret.
I just remembered how I used to feel about the splitting of Nightmare into Nightmare and Siegfried. I really hated it back then. It was like losing my favorite character: Nighmare and Siegfried were very different from the original nightmare.
Interesting how time heals by erasing memories. Now it feels right to see both of them.
