PvP Online Connection Stability

It's been 6 years...
Can we finally get a bugfix for Online Lobby character select getting the timer stuck on 0 seconds and matches otherwise refusing to start?
Having a game be $60 with broken networking (and for this long) is insane.

I changed from Fullscreen to Borderless Fulscreen and this problem (with random stuck timer on char select screen) is gone for me

I hope that's a joke
Because it would suck if that was the reason why; if it really is, that would mean two things:
1) I've sat on this game for 6 years offline when a bug like this shouldn't be tied to the window mode
2) Console players are quite simply screwed because they have no way to change the window mode (I have this game on both Steam and console and never considered this was a potential reason for the issue)

You'd be surprised how often freezes in game are tied to fullscreen mode.
