I think Link from the Smash bros games, and that blond ♥♥♥♥♥ from FF7 would be cool to have in a game. Also why no Mario as a cqc beatemup type character. He can use fireballs and a fox tail as a weapon so long as it's not too "furry".
Both Link and Heihachi are generic, Ezio and the Star Wars characters were more unique/interesting gameplay and personality wise.
I totally agree. 2B seems happier in SC6 from original game as well.
I wished have Season 3 with another female guest
Guest 1: Geralt (male) Base game
Guest 2: 2B (female) Season 1
Guest 3: Haomaru (male) Season 2
So I thought Season 3 would be female guest.
Personally, I don't like Soulcalibur to be so juggle heavy. One thing I liked the most about the franchise is keeping sweet and simple. Being a ragdoll more often than not is not something I found very amusing. That tekken-ization is getting on my nerves.
Movement and right positioning was the most important thing when learning how to play. Sure, you could lauch your opponent for a few hits, but Air Control countered longer air time. You can watch on Youtube to see how it was. Soul Charge was also different. In SCIII you had to hold button to charge it (the longer is hold, the more is charged). The games were way simpler.
I do not know (and don't really care that much) where Haoh comes from. Initially I thought its just a new or new old SC character. He and Gerald blend in just fine IMO and I like the little Witcher story tie in in the story play. Neat thematically fitting cross over. Probably the reason 2B (and I guess Hao) did not got one. I probably would not be bothered much if they would have cooked some story for 2B too but thats mainly 'cause I have a soft spot for weird crossovers; but I would see where others would have a problem with that.
As an inclusion of characters themselfes I like all of them and am glad they added them. I love creating customs and Hao-style was perfect for my MOTU Jitsu homage. For the sake of diverse themed online matches which are not really about the stoy of the swords we cannot have enough styles old and modern; same for maps; we really should have also a few modern and even scifi maps mainly for multiplayer matches or singleplayer 1v1 on choice.
Yoko Taro (creator of NieR Automata) is school friend of SC director. They spend too much money on the stage.
But I wished 2B was in base game guest instead of Geralt (he can be in Season 1 guest), so SC6 would be sold more in first year.
Haoh was kind of redundant, but I always wanted to see Haoh vs Mitsu, so I was cool with it.
Geralt was a wast of a slot, imo.
I still don't think characters like 2B fit Soulcalibur. But I also don't think someone like Azwel fits, too.
Guess it all comes down to tastes.
