Critique: Everything that's wrong with SC6
Soulcalibur 6 at its core is very unlike any of its predecessors, mostly capitalising on guessing games. Reversal Edge is the epitome of this concept and it completely ruins the original idea behind the game.

What's worse, is that there are characters who don't even need to play a Fighting Game and fundamentals matter little to none against them. 2B and Azwel defy all fundamentals making the concept of footsies entirely obsolete, Yoshimitsu has tracking verizontal mids and unblockable combos, Ivy excels both at range and upclose, and Seong Mi-Na is just dumb.

All in all I'm going to call this the poorest iteration of the game so far.

No it isn't.
The vast majority of review disagrees with you. But it's okay, not every game has to be for everyone. You can play SC2 HD while the rest of us will continue to have tons of fun with this game.
Also Tonegawa I understand that you feel strongly about this game as I see you up in arms in every thread where someone doesn't like this game.
With that name you could very well be an employee for the developers set on this forum to try and undermine any negative critique.
Much like it is a well known fact that companies boost their own ratings to keep their best selling games in a mostly positive or at least mixed range so that people buy it.

Sadly, the game is in a pretty bad state right now and no amount of "no, the game is great" will save it. The developers fixing all the completely game breaking nonsense will.

The game is literally a rock paper scissors guessing game where some characters have titanium scissors that works against rock too while others only have rock and paper.

The problem is that the numbers are not there and they continue to drop like a stone.

Right now according to Steam charts, only 170 people are actively playing the game.

That is not good no matter how you try to frame it.

Tekken 7 meanwhile sits at a comfortable 2.4K right now, polling 3.5K daily on average.

I think now is the right time to be asking what went wrong and what they intend to do to boost those numbers. Maybe Free to Play could help like DOA6, however I don't see much of an active playerbase boost there either, so maybe not. But something has to happen.

Well, this is a new one. Would be nice if I got paid for this, but I just enjoy the game.
Namco has a survey for player feedback. Why don't you submit your feedback to them that way? Who knows, maybe it will make the game more to your taste as a result.

They've certainly been very receptive to player feedback and have responded to numerous questions submitted by players.

Of course the game isn't awesome, companies goal is profits, not to please you...
You need to learn to take what you like in life and throw what you don't. People aren't nice and smart by nature...
When there is a winner, there is also a loser. You will lose half of the time in PvP...
Play vs IA if you can't stand losing.
Previous games were as much glitchy than SC6, don't think the balance is worse.
I told you that you already do what you can by giving feedback, try to enjoy what you can now.
Look for a solution instead of focusing on the problem.
if you don't see one, maybe it's just that you don't have all the correct inputs.
Your point of view is what is depressing you.
I know that well, i have the same issue...

You are posting in the wrong place if you want people to actually consider your opinion. They will just call you a troll and try their best to protect their precious Namco Overlords. Even the people that advertised for this game and commentated on tournaments know how dead this game is. But these folks will be sucking off the dead corpse of this game for the next Century.

That's the best summary ever. Should be fixed.

Just a quick observation on the SC6 reviews as I was sifting through them just the other day....a large number of recommended reviews I noticed were authored by players who only had 15, 10, 5 hours of gameplay. Saying things like "So fun, best FG ever!" which I found odd seeing as how many of them last played back in October - November. Now...I'm not sure how those reviews are weighted or if they even legitimately count as defined by policy, but if that overall score is overwhelming positive (which it is) is it really a reliable measurement considering this game has been hanging on by a thread in terms of population for awhile now?

The game can be reviewed by anybody who has it. Remember that offline game play is cool and the problems really concentrate on competitive pvp mostly.

I've got more play time than you. Never seen you either. Of course I won't be so silly as to suddenly claim things that aren't true.
