Slow down during online only.
I have seen a few others have this problem. Soul Calibur 6 Slows down really bad when playing online only. Even When i just enable the ranked match search while in training mode the game suddenly bogs down at random. I have been everyone....is there a good soul out there that can point me in the right direction? So far I have;

-Made windows up to date as much as possible
-Used Driver Booster to make my drivers as up to date as possible
-Graphics drivers up to date
-Audio drivers up to date

I am playing this game using a shared library but before I re-formatted I was using somone elses....anyone....anyone at all?

Can you share you're internet speed ? You can do it on Internet with a ping test for example.

If i share it now it will be crap. During night time we drop to unforgivable speeds.

Last test mid day pulled something like this

36 Down 11 up ping of 12

Because this game uses delay based netcode and not rollback netcode like Street fighter. Delay based netcode slows down your game if your ping is bad. I just bought this game so I do not have a good idea of this game's netcode. But I am a long time street fighter and Tekken player. From what I know your ping is what matters not your connection speed for fighting games. Since most fighting games use P2P your ping should ideally be less than 100ms with your opponent(not local server) wherever they may be. Hope this helps.

The game stutters no matter what your speed is online, it's just bad. I'll show mine. http://www.speedtest.net/result/7802514432 I play with my friend sometimes and he has similar connection and has the same issue even when we play versus each other its a stuttering freak show. When we play Tekken it is smooth as ♥♥♥♥.

I am just getting used to this game. Yes there is a lot of stutter. I feel the game drops inputs frequently.

These are not simple stutters though. Its hard to pinpoint the root cause as it seems random at times but I have played a whole round without any slowdown. Than at the end of said round it started slowing down to a horrible speed.

I did not have this problem prior to reformatting my computer. Even if I just enable online searching during training mode the slowdown will happen as well.

I think you might misjudging the situation. As said before, online play requires use of P2P netcode. This game uses delay based netcode which attempts to sync two PCs. If there is any amount of packets dropped online, or the ping is too high, you will experience slow down as both you and your opponents game slow down in an attempt to synchronize the game states.

It is complex situation and it is not always your own PC and connection, but a lot of factors. To reduce this you want to make sure you're playing with a wired ethernet connection and not WiFi, and making sure you're at 60 FPS locked.

The rest is up to luck. Even if you and your opponent have great connections with everyone else, you might between the both of you have a terrible connection. That is the nature of the internet, it's a network filled with relay points. If those points lose your information, it's like the post office losing a letter. Lag is going to happen while you wait to send another one and both games synchronize.

Then explain it happening during training while looking for ranked matches?

I did not have this issue before the reformat and I played during peak internet hours with other people using the internet (netflix and what not) and it still never did this perma slowdown. Also, I am on ethernet.

But here are my speedtest results anyway.

Here are my speeds, still plying 3+bars, same region, sometimes it's quite laggy.. And as soon as something 'flashy'/GFX heavy happen on the screen you can almost hear their computer more or less blow up, and come to a screeching halt.

95% of the time there are no problems. (During training waiting for a match, it will a lot of the the matches make a quick few frame stutter, when connection to a bad connection)

(If you don't have +60 fps all the time.. lower your GFX until your computer can survive playing offline without any stutters at least)

Those speeds are godlike =O. But ya, my game runs 1080 60FPS no problem offline. I have even reduced it to the lowest quality settings and that didnt help.

(I had a 154 ping to 'XMission Salt Lake City, UT' when I tried it, (but I'm both uploading and downloading.. and watching DreamHack during both tests))
