Online is kinda dead, and netcode is not that good. The game is cool, but this is not the best fighting game on the market. If however you enjoy flashy weapon that might be one of your best bet.
As for DLC, I'd say the say, it really depends on your interest in the DLC characters.
Basically for all content you need just Deluxe + Season Pass 2.
SC VII will be here somewhere in 2025. SC6 looks fine even now with proper 4k support.
As previously said, get Deluxe Edition + Season Pass 2 and you will have everything the game has to offer.
Tekkken 7 was released in the arcades in 2015, then 2 years later in 2017 it moved to PC/home consoles.
SoulCalibur 6 was released in 2018.
I believe it is safe to assume SoulCalibur 7 won't be released before Tekken 8 and Tekken 8 was not even announced yet, so 2025 is quite an optimistic guess.
All in all Tekken is the bigger franchise of the two with a much bigger budget, so it is also used to research/pioneer new tech that can be used in SoulCalibur down the line, like how Tekken 7 was the very first Tekken to use Unreal Engine instead of a proprietary Namco tech, which is a trend SoulCalibur 6 followed.
Expect Tekken 8 to break into next gen first for SoulCalibur 7 to follow in its footsteps later.
According to previous releases planning we can just guess that it might happen someday.
It have the creation option, libra mode and the gameplay is fun.
But if you want 100% online play, then no.
Low playerbase, not a dead game but barely alive online.
2. Yeah but far from a discord fighter, if you are EU or NA and have a good internet you will be finding matches in about 30 seconds any evening of the week, its also worth noting that the competitive aspect of the community (Online and Offline tournaments) are really active
Not that far from being a discord fighter, I mean, it is a discord fighter depending on where you live. I'm not really aware of some really active competitive aspect of this game. I mean when you compare it to some other fighting games.
Don't get me wrong, I like the game and I feel it would deserve to be more successfull than it is. I'd even say that I'm surprised that it doesn't perform better. I'm just trying to give some global overview of SCVI in the fgc. This is sad, there are not so many 3d fighters on the market, and only one is absolutely dominant, while there are many successfull 2 fighters.
I think it worth as sales price as you are already interested in this game.
Deluxe version + Season 2 pass is the all packages.
If you play on SC6, probably about 80% of skill will be carried over to SC7.
SC7 will be full price and can be 2-5 years later.
I'm not sure the replay value.
I've purchased 7 copies total on Steam, PS and Xbox.
Total play time is probably more than 2000h.
So it is well worth for me.
For online, I would recommend going casual with friends or people that are not that good because ranked is filled with old players.
I'm from Europe and I barely find matches in like 15 minutes+. It takes so long that I forget I'm in queue.
I think I heard there is bug on server connection. When it is disconnected, it does not connect automatically.
To avoid that, turn off waiting match and turn on again.
If it seems not working still, go back to main menu and select Network menu.
Also if you seems not getting match as expected, it's good to check your NAT type.
It is how to find your PC from internet side. In general,
OK: Internet - Modem - PC
OK: Internet - Modem - Router - PC
