It depends on what type of fighting game you liked, if you like juggle heavy combo based fighting games like Dead or Alive, I'd get Tekken. If you want a more stylish, duel esque fighting game, Soul Calibur is the one for you.

Mortal kombat was "deep" O_o

Soul Calibur 6 is in general A LOT easier to get into and much more intuitive to play and learn. Thus its easier to have fun. Tekken 7 is definitely more hardcore, its harder to learn, much harder to execute (combos etc.) and has a big focus on doing long combos juggling your enemy in the air.
On top of that Tekken 7 has a very barebones Singeplayer, while Soul Calibur 6 easily has more to offer with several "Story Modes" for both existing and your own created character. Tekken 7 has its focus clearly on Ranked Multiplayer (which can become a frustrating grind very quickly) and Tournaments.
Soul Calibur is the more casual fighting game experience, but dont let "casual" fool you. Its still extremely complex and deep. The learning curve is just not as crazy in Tekken.

Soulcalibur 6 is so much more fun. The customization and fighting mechanics are really nice. I highly recommend you pick this up!

ok, than soulclaibur sound much better, and there will be more players online, at the start.
@Game->Killah!! yes Mortal Kombat is much better than other fighting games for me.

Yep Tekken as a good amount of customization but i miss creating my own characters.
I have a good experience with Tekken 7 but nothing beat Soul Calibur for me, to be honnest in Tekken before i stopped i mostly played Noctis because it was the closest to a Soul Calibur character experience in my opinion.

Come join the Soul Calibur team, and at least it don't have ridiculously OP characters like Paul and King. :lol_tk:

If you think Mortal Kombat is deep and Soulcalibur or Tekken isn't then you're playing fighting games wrong. Watch some evo footage, there's a reason Tekken draws a bigger crowd than MK or Injustice.

Yes, get real a moment, 3D and 8-Way-Run > 2D, definitely way more depth and freedom of movement.

Souly is mash-happy and far less ridged / dial-a-combo-y / air-juggle-centric than NRS games. It is also much more pleasing to the eye (not to decry NRS aesthetics, just that SC is far less 'brooding' and more 'cartoon-y' -- something that the masses tend to like... if the success of the MCU over DCU films is anything to go by). This game will please most casuals and those who are just acclimatising to the genre. It is also one of the rare weapons-based fighters (compare: fighting games with weapon-equipped chars.) out there -- Samurai Shodown 2019 being the other notable sub-genre revitalisation -- making it quite unique.

However, the game is 3-D and, in this sense, quite divergent from NRS titles -- something that those who know only the latter brand of game, might find disconcerting...

Youve never played tekken? That is good, it sucks. Get Soulcalibur 6 and Dead or alive 6 :)

Tekken 7 is certainly the best online fighting game, the game is so deep that you'll never stop to learn and improve your skill ! ... but that game is designed for hardcore gamers. The big issue is that the game has been released for more than one year, as a beginer you'll be destroyed for at least one month, are you ready for this ? (in low ranks you'll match players that'll try some other characters and those players have a very good knowledge of the T7 mecanisms, you'll have ZERO chance to win..).

SC6 is a new game, it will be much more friendly for beginers. And you will have a good offline more (story mode) that T7 has not.
