I hope this game get Season pass 3
I love the story mode and the 3 characters with story in Season pass 2 had amazing story mode, Setsuka story alone better than most fighting games stories.

I know i'm the only one who care about story in fighting game

For christ's sake Bamco, give us season pass 3. Lizard man needs some love and we lack sh!t-ton of CAS stuffs.

I like the stories too, especially the DLC ones, and I'm usually curious to see how the character's Chronicle will turn out.

The three Chronicles in S2 together with the side chapters added for free are basically a new story mode or expansion.

I don't mind paying for more Season pass. Its kinda fun to pass the time messing around the CaS, trying to make some anime/manga characters.

This is what I'm calling fan support

Honestly, if they released a 3rd DLC pack, I wouldn't buy it. Online is the only interesting mode at this point and it isn't that great. I'd rather hear about SC7.

This could be taking some years. SC5 had been released 2012, SC6 2018, so you gonna wait approx 6 years. I'd rather like to have some more fresh content in the meantime. It's just a shame the modding community is not very active on SC, since modding can turn a game into a quite new experience and keep it great over the years. I'd be start modding on my own if I'd have the time :(

The thing with SC5 is that it sold poorly, played poorly and it was hard for them to get the green light at all to make the sequel, thats not the case for SC6 that was a comerciall sucess despite low budget, I would not be surprised to see a new Soulcalibur in like 2 years

I did not know SC5 was such a low-performer in terms of financial aspects, but it explains the long time and why they had to recycle all this old stuff in it's successor instead of more new content. I can only estimate that releasing SC6 on several platforms kicked in way more bucks than before and hopefully, it's a boost for SC7, especially for new content, a more decent editor and more stuff to go. Including game modes, video sequences and DLC.

Let's have hope!

If you look at the overall timeline, Soul games (not counting offshoots) come 4ish years apart. V to VI is the most notable exception. Another factor is people generally feel each game after 2 was a worse experience and did worse sales than the previous entry (not everybody, of course, but that was the vibe on the forums after the initial hype died down). So 3* did worse than 2. 4 did worse than 3*. 5 did worse than 4. May not be true, but that's the public consciousness on the matter (again, each game has its die-hard defenders, but I'm speaking broadly) and there were people on forums claiming to quote Namco souces that 4 was going to be the last Calibur ... then 5 was going to be the last Calibur. I always thought it was nonsense, but it would come up in forums every so often. But V did take a petition or poll or something to get going.

I've never looked at impirical sales data, so, that very well may contradict what people said on forums. These two things often don't have any correlation because people are funny that way.

*3 gets an asterisk because it was PS2 exclusive, and that muddies the comparidon waters.

They're going to do season 3 or nothing. For now, they don't even have the idea of a seventh chapter. And then Soul Calibur 6, it didn't have a low budget for production, in fact it's the opposite. They invested us fully.

Judging by the interlude chapters for Mitsurugi and Nightmare, I'd say they do have an idea of where a sequel would be headed. Whether it's coming in one year, two or five remains to be seen, but SCVI seems to have performed well enough for a sequel to be pretty much guaranteed.

Also, everyone knows SCVI was given a shoe-string budget. And it actually shows: no intro, a menu screen on par with the original SoulCalibur on Dreamcast, a lack of CGI cutscenes and stages throughout. I mean, I feel they did a great job with the resources they had by focusing on gameplay and storytelling. But how anyone can have played the game and claim it had full investment is gobsmacking to say the least.

That's not entirely true, since SCIV is apparently the best-selling game in the series. It just seems like it isn't very highly regarded.

SCV was basically a failure, with poor sales and an even poorer reception.

SCIII is lauded for its single player contents but was plagued with technical issues. The original SoulCal is the best reviewed fighting game of all time, truly a technical breakthrough, but was held back from being exclusive to a flopped home console.

SCII is probably the first and last to have truly excelled in both sales and critical praise (and here I don't mean only professional reviews, but players' feedback as well).

SCVI seems to have done relatively well in both regards, just not to same extent.
