There were some sales report from game shop or other resource, but it won't be accurate as limited source.
Tekken 7 was announced over 7 million copy sold.

I'm not sure if these number included Xbox's GamePass.
Harada-san was explained that to make profit for new version of Tekken, it needs to be sold over 1 million. Tekken 7 case was keep selling, so new DLC and season pass are more profitable.
Sales number are keep going up as long as they are selling. But I guess it was far less than one million to be decided not having season 3 at the decision timing.
Unfortunately, I cant seem to get the soul calibur official pages on twitter and facebook. I m getting ziltch atm. X.x
I'm not asking to Harada-san, but just collecting info.
I was curious how/why Bandai Namco was so behind to show frame data. Other 3D fighters (Virtua Fighter and DOA) had in-game frame display since many years ago.
Both of developer team of Tekken and SoulCalibur think that finding frame data is very fun thing and better not take away from players. Well I don't think that way. I think it should be public info as eSports rules.
But it might be more efficient to ask Harada-san instead of Okubo-san. Personally I wish Okubo-san comes out on social media like Harada-san though. But I don't think it would happen as Harada-san's off work activities are no extra income as how Japanese company works.
There was developer survey page before both in English and Japanese. So we could submit our request to dev team directly. But the page has closed near end of Season 2.
Currently other way is filing bug report and request though Bandai Namco support page.
One interesting thing from Harada-san was that they put effort on responding social request like buff/nerf more than actual statics data from server. I think these decision making becomes common between Tekken and SC team.

We can add 200k-500k copies sold on Steam: https://steamspy.com/app/544750
So, yeah, by now overall I'd say most likely above 2 million.
Season 3? Almost definitely a no. Season 2's last DLC was December 2020, so it's been 7 months of total information blackout. It's possible that Season 3 got delayed due to the whole pandemic thing and it's possible there's an announcement coming at Evo, but I don't think very many people are holding their breath on that.
Soul Calibur 7 is more likely. But an announcement on that is anyone's guess. Historically, Soul Cal sequels come 5-ish years after their predecessor give or take a few, and SoulCal 6 came out October 2018. So probably won't see an announcement until late 22 at the absolute soonest.
Unfortunately, SoulCalibur has been a low priority with Bandai Namco for a long, long time.
It had obvious message that Virtua Fighter eSport/Ultimate Showdown had 8 millions download within one month on Playstation alone. It is already exceeded Tekken 7.
That was surprising number even considered PSN FreePlay. How 3D fighters is poplar in world wide.
So I think next 3-5 year would be good for 3D fighter fans with new versions.
