Can I fight my own custom characters?
What kind of game modes use the custom characters? I see one called Libra of Soul where you make ONE character and then fight the regular cast. Obviously in online you can bring ONE character and fight all kinds of weirdos, but honestly I don't care about online.

I want a mode where I can make 20 of my own characters and then play against them ranked in arcade style, or basically any kind of long term worldbuilding exclusively featuring characters I made. Does SC6 have anything like that?

The character creation looks great but it's kind of boring if all I get to do is fight Mitsurugi and Ivy.

I think you can fight your custom characters in Vs CPU.

You can play against your own character creation at
Battle > Versus > Player vs CPU

I'm not sure what you mean "ranked in arcade style".
Above mode is single battle each and not series of characters.
But you can set CPU strength.

Character creation can pick any style from regular character + DLC character you own.

I'm not quite sure either, that is rather vague isn't it? :d4_smile:

I like the idea of a normal single-player arcade style mode where I fight a bunch of my custom characters, all in order of how tough they are historically, i.e. a character who usually loses would be the first antagonist, working all the way up to that one character I have that always seems to win at the final stage.

Basically any mode where it's wall-to-wall my creations instead of the canon characters would do. Doesn't sound like there's anything like that except one-off exhibition matches.

Go Player vs. CPU, select you character, select your AI opponent's character, select a stage, after a battle is over pick "Go back to Character Select screen", rinse and repeat.

Tbh that's so specific I think it's pretty obvious that wouldn't be in the game, not as a mode at least.

You can ofc have all your custom characters fight one another, 1Pv2P, 1PvCPU, even CPUvCPU, and you can choose the battle order and make up your own stories to go with.

There is no team battle like SC2 were you select multiple characters in succession, you can only do 1v1 but you can select 2 custom characters. So what your looking to do just takes an extra step.

you can fight cpu in versus, but honestly even "very high" difficulty is pretty easy and I'm pretty casual to average at soul cal.

There's also legendary difficulty though.

I stand corrected (you learn something new every day). I didn't know versus had a legendary difficulty until now.

Yep. You need to beat Very Hard arcade to get it, not sure if you need gold or not. It seem to me though that Legendary Arcade mode is harder than Legendary Versus.
CZI Nov 14, 2020 @ 9:57am
Unlocking Legendary level is just clearing Arcade mode with Very Hard.
Gold is not required, so you can retry as many times you want.

You'll get an game achievement too.

just did it now; don't need gold to unlock.
went into versus on legendary and got whooped :mhwgood: 10/10

I'm not asking about that one specific mode and nothing else, just anything where you can actually use all the millions of characters the game lets you make.

Plenty of games with high customization let you build out rosters of custom characters for use in the game. It's OK if this one doesn't, but I thought it was worth asking. Honestly it seems strange to me that the game lets you build up to 100 (!) custom characters, but then you can't really do anything with them.

It wasn't at all meant as a jab at you, I apologise if it came across as such. I just wanted to say that, with all the details you describe, is not in the game, but there's something somewhat similar.

You can play any mode, offline and online, with your created characters, except for Chronicle, since that focus on the cast's story. And even there your Libra character shows up as an opponent in the main campaign.
