Battle > Versus > Player vs CPU
I'm not sure what you mean "ranked in arcade style".
Above mode is single battle each and not series of characters.
But you can set CPU strength.
Character creation can pick any style from regular character + DLC character you own.
I like the idea of a normal single-player arcade style mode where I fight a bunch of my custom characters, all in order of how tough they are historically, i.e. a character who usually loses would be the first antagonist, working all the way up to that one character I have that always seems to win at the final stage.
Basically any mode where it's wall-to-wall my creations instead of the canon characters would do. Doesn't sound like there's anything like that except one-off exhibition matches.
Tbh that's so specific I think it's pretty obvious that wouldn't be in the game, not as a mode at least.
You can ofc have all your custom characters fight one another, 1Pv2P, 1PvCPU, even CPUvCPU, and you can choose the battle order and make up your own stories to go with.
There's also legendary difficulty though.
Yep. You need to beat Very Hard arcade to get it, not sure if you need gold or not. It seem to me though that Legendary Arcade mode is harder than Legendary Versus.
Gold is not required, so you can retry as many times you want.
You'll get an game achievement too.
went into versus on legendary and got whooped
Plenty of games with high customization let you build out rosters of custom characters for use in the game. It's OK if this one doesn't, but I thought it was worth asking. Honestly it seems strange to me that the game lets you build up to 100 (!) custom characters, but then you can't really do anything with them.
It wasn't at all meant as a jab at you, I apologise if it came across as such. I just wanted to say that, with all the details you describe, is not in the game, but there's something somewhat similar.
You can play any mode, offline and online, with your created characters, except for Chronicle, since that focus on the cast's story. And even there your Libra character shows up as an opponent in the main campaign.
