netcode update?
recently, tekken 7 got a netcode update. did soul calibur get the same treatment?

my uneducated guess is that since they use the same engine, it wouldn't be that hard to get the same upgrade into this game.

thanks for your time.

I think if T7 changes are good and get proven result, SC6 may get on Season 3.

It could be at least 4-6 month from now.
It hasn't. SoulCal is kinda treated like the unwanted stepchild. Maybe in the future.

This.
No, at least not yet. If it does, though, I'll play this game until the end of time.

This game with GGPO would be so good!!

Considering the number of players SCVI has, I wonder if a wifi indicator will do more harm than good. Not all Wifi cards are made equal and if you're using something from a refutable brand, you should be able to do just as well as an ethernet player.

I think simply adding rollback netcode would be the best course of action for this game.

Again with the wifi defenders who don't understand WHY wifi is bad for fighting games...

It's probably more complicated than either you or I may think. For some computer users, ethernet may not be an option at all for certain audiences (No CAT5 wall plug, mini-ITX LAN box, etc.)

Are such players to simply not be allowed to play fighting games with their only crime being their computer setup? I will acknowledge that the hate towards Wifi has been earned (had the unfortunate honor to gamble with Chinese cards on Amazon), though I'd like to think that with motherboard manufacturers favouring Intel's AX200, it's possible for a Wifi connection to be indistinguishable from ethernet.

You couldh ave the best card in the world, but the reality still remains that the information has to:
1. Pass through the air, making it prone to ALL AND ANY KIND OF INTERFERENCE, leading to huge lag spikes ingame.
2. The fact that wifi technology doesn't allow for sending and receiving of information at the same time (which can be done with no problem by using a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cable), leading to packet loss, and again, lag.

So what, if you have no ethernet cables in your walls?
With WiFi you also want to be pretty close to your router, you can lay down a cable.
Even if you need to go to other rooms. There are drills, you can drill your own holes through walls. Or if your doors have a gap to the floor lay them down there and nail them to the walls.

And if you don't want to do that you can still use D-Lan Adapters to send the signal through the electricity cables. BTW. all these things are cheaper than getting one of the good "reliable" WLAN Cards.
And good luck playing in an apartment building with WLAN when you get a lot of interferences and someone starts his old microwave and suddenly your connections breaks up. Even my 150 Euro WLAN card couldn't do anything there. Especially because the signal had to travel through some concrete walls.
One hole drilled and a Cable later I never had problems again.

When I connected through wifi I used powerline adapters and it was a clear difference.

GGPO has been such a boost for every game that implemented it. T7 has basically doubted its numbers since S4 began, and I suppose the netcode update has played a major part in that. Even an old gamer like GG XX AC+ went from averaging 20 players to having several hundreds at all times with GGPO.

I think T7 boost was more from Kunimitsu (first DLC char in Season Pass 4 with famous voice actress Saori Hayami).

Season pass 4 got cheaper too.
Season pass 3: $24.99
Season pass 4: $14.99

I think netcode implement get more player to stick game.

I think they did not mentioned that if they used GGPO or any other, but they mentioned that roll back has already implemented before Season 4.

But in any case stable net connection and closer distance would be better than any roll back.
Rollback is just assume and amend.

Tekken update isn't real rollback like KI, MK11, Skullgirls or SSBM.
Keep working Bamco...

And yes people still need ethernet and decent speed, rollback just make high ping playable.

The netcode they had before season 4 wasn't rollback in any capacity. If you want to see good rollback, just play Killer Instinct, which can handle matches from EUROPE TO JAPAN with no issues.
