Gr0h checks on Maxi briefly, then he prepares to fight Azwel.
Azwel defeats The Conduit (the player), but Gr0h gets mad and unleashes his Malfestation powers. They both fall down in to a ravine.
Week or so later, it's reported that Azwel is still active, and it's up to the Conduit to defeat him.
Conduit takes him down, but a week or so later, the organization responsible for Gr0h wants you to do something about dealing with him, so they ask you to go looking.
This ends two different ways:
Bad Ending: you fight Gr0h and kill him.
Good Ending(?): you fight Gr0h and he survives, recovering from the Malfested power that took over his sanity.
Secret BEST Ending: After cleaning up several Astral Fissures, you bump in to Gr0h again... and he wants to fight you again. The Conduit defeats Gr0h, but Gr0h vows to come back and try again.
After cleaning up several MORE Astral Fissures, you bump in to Gr0h one final time... he challenges you with FULL SOUL GAUGE and awakened SOUL CHARGE... you defeat him... he thanks you and he says he plans on getting stronger.
Gr0h's ending suggests he goes on to continue investigating the truth behind the death of his friend, but also it seems Azwel isn't quite "dead" even after you defeated him (because of his interactions with Raphael/Amy) this is implied to be something connected with Soul Calibur V.
Also I still expect more of his individual chapters in Soul Chronicles to be released in the future. The one about saving Maxi is called Side Story 1, implying there will be at the very least Side Story 2 at some point if not more.
He supposedly avenged his crew just prior to Soul Calibur V's events.
The original timeline suggests he got a fragment of Soul Edge in his body and had to train under Edge Master to deal with it (he seemed to be aging slowly as a result). Later he got sent on a mission to pass the Kali Yuga on to Xiba (Kilik's son) and mentor him.
