just dodge and punish.
Or use a quick move to interrupt them.
'cuz, you know, a GUARD BREAK move isn't supposed to be...well... guarded.
It is no different from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken parry mechanic from dark souls; where the attacker has no choice but to lose the exchange by doing what they're supposed to do : attack.
When they can guard break, whether or not i can win isn't in my hands anymore, it is all on how well they can read a move, and press an easy button.
It is tragic when the game just devolves into ♥♥♥♥♥♥ players reversal edge spamming and guard break spamming.
You're literally going to kill the game.
well, if your oppnent spams RE, just sidestep and wait for them to release it for an easy win, or press A+B (horizontal+vertical) to perform a "guard break" move that breaks RE
Read first, you "mong".
first, "spamming." if you are complaining about this, you are a scrub. no two bits about it.
because it is questionable which mechanic you're actually talking about, RE is the only one not dating back to at least socal 2. attacks with guard break properties and parries have existed since socal 2, and probably even date to soul edge.... i forget, it's been a few decades since i played that installment.
to beat RE, all you have to do is to watch your opponent and not be mindlessly mashing. it has a long startup, so you can simply sidestep and punish.
the window on parries (GI, block + forward) is much smaller than it was in SC2, to do it in socal 6, you pretty much need a read.
why throws are guarded by these things: the one attempting to throw gets their hands slapped with a weapon. of course that will disrupt a throw attempt.
