"The particularity of Tira is that she can change her personality: Jolly and Gloomy. The attacks are very differents between these two personalities. It switches randomly. The character is strong if the player manages that. That's what we had in mind when we created the character.
So far in SoulCalibur serie, everybody wanted to switch to gloomy as much as possible and stay in this stance as much as possible.
But what's the use of the Jolly side? We would like to be game situations for both sides.
And to improve the gameplay of personality change, we would like that it is not "I stay gloomy as much as possible", but rather that we switch frequently, and it is rewarding.
In fact it's a character that has been hard to build for the team because of the sidechange, and honestly there are lots of stuff about Tira known only by the development team. But we wanted that you know that Tira is one of the priority of the team.
Middle guy: Up to now our priority was patch 1.10, but because of that we could not handle too much about the balance of the game or the attacks. But on the patch 1.11 it will be done.
Oosaka: I think it's going to be easier to fight whether it's jolly or gloomy."
It's terrible because she has one of the most unique and unconventional weapons in the series; but she's held back because the developers keep trying to force mechanics that have no place in a competitive fighting game.
I don't know where do some people get the "Nightmare is so slowww" thing, but everytime I face a Nightmare his ultra heavy sword moves at a speed that breaks the sound barrier and if you get hit by that once... goodbye to like 25% of hp and prepare to get tossed, like set flying out of the ring.
Some other characters like Raphael move at an insane speed like they can slow time or something.
Every character's got some things that could become overpowered, even Talim's got some "shotguns", however I don't se anything like that with Tira.
I hope she gets something overpowered in the upcoming patch so she can stand more chances with the rest of characters.
